The sequel has been cancelled. According to Siliconera, a statement on a former Behaviour Interactive developer’s LinkedIn profile listed the WET sequel, which was revealed last November, as canceled.

The statement also noted that several employees who worked on the sequel left for other companies. In addition, another programmer, who currently develops under Behaviour Interactive, listed the title as a “past project”.

Arriving on September 15 is WET, a third-person shooter from Bethesda Softworks for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Even though few details about the game have been revealed, we know that in WET players take the role of Rubi Malone, a woman who is on a mission to hunt down the man that left her for dead.

“We are extremely excited to bring WET to gamers on September 18th,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. “A2M has created an explosive gaming experience and the action is non-stop from start to finish.”

“We’ve worked really hard to make WET different from any other action game available”, said Patrick Fortier, Creative Director at A2M. “When players experience the game’s unique blend of gunplay, sword combat and acrobatics, they won’t want to put the controller down.”

 What happens when you mix Stranglehold and Max Payne? You get a game with a heroine that gives Lara Croft a run for her money (If you know what I’m saying) and that game is Wet.

In the game you play a girl named Rubi, Rubi’s job is to “fix” things and she happens to be really good at her job. So she is sent on a mission to bring back a Rich Man’s wayward son but she ends up being lefted for dead. Now she is on a mission to take down the man that left her for Dead but she is on the run leaving people dead in her wake and she is a very pissed off problem fixer (trust us you will not be sorry this game will keep your heart pumping).

Just imagine mid-air flips of ledges, running up and off walls, diving in to Slow-motion and picking off People.

Wet is being developed A2M and published by Sierra Entertainment which is not a bad mix. So check this game out coming out later this year for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
