Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced Mortal Kombat for the PlayStation Vita, expected later this spring.

In development at NetherRealm Studios, Mortal Kombat has been purposefully designed for the portable gaming experience, and it includes “brand new gameplay features and content developed exclusively” for the handheld.

“The NetherRealm team is committed to making sure that we follow up the success of 2011’s Mortal Kombat with an equally compelling experience on the PlayStation Vita,” said creative director Ed Boon. However, no other details where made available about the project.

The online pass system seems to be everywhere, even in single-player games. According to Eurogamer, Warner Bros. Interactive have confirmed that an online pass will be needed to access the Catwomen content on the Batman: Arkham City disc.

“Further to your story, players who purchase previously owned copies of Batman: Arkham City can access the playable Catwoman content for £7.99/ 800 Microsoft Points,” said a Warner Bros representative. “Playing as Catwoman is not required to complete the game.”

However, without the code, Catwoman still appears in the game as part of the story, but her playable missions remain locked. In addition, it also unlocks Catwoman as a playable character in the challenge missions.

After an ocelot of speculation, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has confirmed the existence of Nightwing in Batman: Arkham City — the upcoming sequel to Arkham Asylum — in the announcement of the Nightwing Bundle Pack.

The character will release with moves and gadgets unique to him, as well as the “Wayne Manor” and “Main Hall” challenge missions. The Nightwing Bundle Pack will run for 560 Microsoft points/$6.99 on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network on November 1st.

Warner Bros. Interactive today confirmed that Robin will be a playable character in Arkham City’s “new and improved” challenge mode — he’ll only be available in the Tim Drake Robin expansion pack available exclusively via pre-order from Best Buy.

Robin will come complete with his own unique gadgets and special moves, and will be playable in all challenge maps in the game, as well as two additional challenge maps that are included with the pack – Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape. The pack will also contain a bonus Red Robin character skin.
