The Nintendo Wii is the fastest selling video game console ever made and still is continuing to grow, sale-wise, but it looks like the Nintendo Wii, itself, isn’t finished growing. As you may already know, Nintendo’s plan for its console is to generate more revenue from content.

And to help it’s reach its goal, Nintendo is planning to launch a TV program on its console called Wiinoma in Japan by the end of this year. Along with it, comes plans for an international expansion.

The program will be available to those with both a Wii console and an internet connection, and will feature cartoons, cookery programs, brain-training quizzes and lifestyle shows. The company has plans to make most of the content free, but there will also be some pay-per-view content via Wii Points.

As you can probably see, this is going to cause some worries between Japanese television executives because this is just a next step in the Wii becoming, “the centre-piece of the living room”.

Black is the classic color of a video game console, even back in the N64 days, but there’s another classic color for a video game console, and that color is White.

Up until this year, hopefully, the Play Station 3 has been available in only two colors and they are the traditional Black and Metal Gear Gun Metal, but it looks like Sony has plans to change that.

According to CrunchGear, when search trough some FCC filings they found that there’s a possibility that Sony is planning to release a White Play Station 3 in North America.

SCEA’s Alex Armour had commented on the very distinctive rumor:

“There are many FCC filings like this each year. We haven’t made any announcements about upcoming PS3 plans, but are comfortable with our current two SKU strategy. We are continually evaluating the market trends and consumer input to determine the appropriate PS3 models for our territory.”

Okay. It’s not really ready yet, but it will be making its way onto a console near you very soon, Nov. 19. As of right now, the update is sitting in a sever farm at Microsoft Headquarters just waiting to make its way down your Ethernet cable straight into your 360, but from this video, after the update is complete, you’ll be truly into a the New Xbox Experience. That’s geared to any genre that makes you a gamer. The update is set to bring a profound change that will bring a new ever lasting appeal to a bigger audience.

Microsoft has shipped 22.5m Xbox 360s through September 2008 and should pass the totals of the original Xbox, which shipped 24.7m worldwide, next quarter. This was revealed in Microsoft’s updated system results earlier today for the Xbox 360, the company is reporting that they shipped 2.2m consoles from July 1 to Sept 30 bringing the total number to 22.5m shipped since launch.

For Microsoft, Q1, Q5, and Q9 are the quarters ending December. Given that Q1 was the supply constrained launch in 2005, and that the original Xbox only shipped 24.7m units worldwide, the Xbox 360 should top its predecessor next quarter.

In a recent Interview with Xbox’s vice president Don Mattrick spoke about their current place in the console market, In second place that they will do everything in there power to maintain that powerful spot. Mattrick also touched on the issue saying, that while they cannot see beating there arch rival Nintendo because of that great hold on the market they are confident that second place race is over and that Sony falls into a third spot.

“I’m not at a point where I can say we’re going to beat Nintendo,” he said, before predicting, “We will sell more consoles this generation than Sony.”

Early this year at E3, Mattrick said that he wanted to beat Sony, but this time it is stressed more.To this date Microsoft has sold an estimated 20 million console since  its introduction on November 2005.

It looks like LittleBigPlanet will be gracing you with it’s own bundle. Sony will be really pushing LittleBigPlanet as one of it’s top PS3’s exclusive games late this fall. It comes at no surprise that the game will be combine with a 80GB console system and will retail for € 399, which at this time in the currency exchange market would translate to $585.43 U.S., the system and the game would also be shipped with the Dualshock 3 controller and is now available for pre-order.
