If you were wondering how much motion control Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition would use, Capcom’s PR (Public Relations) boss Chris Kramer relayed to GameTrailers that Alternative Edition, the motion controlled version of Resident Evil 5 for PlayStation 3, will use motion control “from top to bottom” – meaning for all movement featured in the game.

“They’re going to be using motion controller on PS3 from top to bottom, going in from movement to combat,” Kramer told GT. “I’ll be very interested to see it in practice.” During the interview, Kramer did note that he hasn’t seen Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition fully using motion control, however, he did say that, that’s what they told him.

Kramer then went onto talk about Capcom using Natal in future games. “I haven’t heard anything about Natal right now,” he continued. “The team’s said it’s focusing on motion control support for the PlayStation 3 platform, and they’re thinking very hard about what they can offer to be of an equal level of interest for 360 players.”

[Thanks to VG24/7]

I’m charismatic when it comes to the release of the next Beyond Good & Evil title, however, the president of Ubisoft North America doubts that the squeal will ever get a release.

When being interviewed, Ubisoft’s Laurent Detoc stated that it’s possible that the title may never get a release date – when being questioned about the risks of the new IP.

“Yes, that worked out, but it doesn’t work out every time, and sometimes you come back to an IP that didn’t work because you still think it could have – like Beyond Good and Evil, which was leaked, so now people know we’re working on a new one,” said Detoc in an interview with IndustryGamers.

“Whether or not it comes out remains to be seen anyway, but we didn’t want to abandon that IP because it has a cache and authenticity about it. There’s something very pure about that game and it’s too bad that we were not able to build it as an IP at the time.”

He later then denied that the squeal had ever been confirmed.

“Well, I didn’t say there’s definitely going to be another game. I said something had leaked, which means we’ve been working on some Beyond Good and Evil stuff, but whether there’s going to be another game or not, that’s something for the future. But getting to your question as to why there’s work on the IP again, it’s a creative people business; the creative talent is interested in it and possibly exploring how to do it from a new angle.”

When speaking to the Major Nelson, in his recent podcast, Kramer stated that, “It’s a really good time for new players to jump in, because what we’re doing is kind of waving goodbye to a lot of storyline elements from, essentially, act one of the Resident Evil franchise.”

“Resident evil 5 is really setting the franchise up for what’s going to happen now going forwards, so establishing new characters and storylines, and pretty much a new direction for the game.”

“If you’re late to the party and you haven’t been playing the games for the past 15 years, all you need to know is that the game’s a lot of fun and just filled with action, so you don’t have to worry about the plot, as we’re kind up picking up and starting afresh.”

But, it seems that the producer of the game, Jun Takeuchi, has some idea for rebooting the franchise.

When being interviewed by 1UP, Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi revealed that the franchise is in for a reboot, or atleast that’s what the 1UP feature preview said:

“In what is destined to be the first genuinely epic game of 2009, Resident Evil 5 is practically guaranteed to be the last of its kind, with the game’s producer, Jun Takeuchi, assuring us that a reboot is in order for the inevitable Resident Evil 6. That’s not to suggest that there’s anything wrong with the evil at hand. Quite the opposite; it’s awesome fun, and we’ve beaten the game from beginning to end, and have a week’s worth of detailed, insider info for you to enjoy. Check out our exclusive interview, videos of unseen levels, and our final hands-on preview to see if Capcom’s controversial new survival-horror game lives up to its legacy.”

So here’s the question Resident Evil 5, were is the Run-and-Gun?

Pending that if you aren’t one of the nearly 2 million people that had a chance to play the Resident Evil 5 demo, you’ll probably didn’t know that the demo didn’t have a Run-and-Gun feature, which could of been a useful tool in the demo.

Going into that, if you are one of the many people on the web that search gaming websites, you probable may of already heard the many cries of disappointment by Resident Evil fans because of there not being a Run-and-Gun feature.

Speaking of, on the latest episode of the HipHopGamerShow, this is just an example, the HipHopGamer had ‘tested’ the demo listing a number of gameplay disappointments at the end of the show. Taking that into note, he listed one of the many problems with the demo, the lack of Run-and-Gun, which you can view at his site which should clear up what I’m talking about you.

Now, the camera will turn from the game to the developers, what were to you guys thinking!?!? That feature could of been very useful in the final product, but please do think of it when you guys bring out something new for the game.

Today, Capcom has announced that the ‘Resident Evil 5′ demo will be making a landing on Xbox Live Market Place exclusively.

The next installment of the landmark survival horror franchise from Capcom will take action to a new level with a two-level, playable demo available exclusively on Xbox 360 for one week beginning Monday, January 26. After that, we assume the following Thursday, the PlayStation 3 will have its turn.

In Addition, to the exclusive demo, a new exclusive high-definition trailer of the game, shown only at the past Tokyo Game Show in October of 2008, will be made available for download on the Xbox LIVE service on Friday, Jan. 16.

Xbox 360 gamers will also be first to take on the new enemies in battle, including an army of weapon-wielding infected Majini, the gigantic hooded Majini Executioner and even the dreaded Chainsaw Majini. Players can also choose between the classic ‘Resident Evil’-style controls or switch to the newer ‘Action’ controls inspired by games like ‘Gears of War 2′ and ‘Halo 3′.

This news comes from the cover article of GamesTM, which is about I Am Alive. And as it turns out that, Raymond isn’t as involved the title as we where led to believe.

The article reveals that the team over at Darkworks, best known for survival horror game Cold Fear, has no idea how that rumor got started. But, in Raymond rumored place stands senior producer Alexis Goddard.

“We encourage the players to use tactics, diversion, and discretion,” said Goddard, mentioning that an empty shotgun can be very persuasive if enemies don’t realize it’s out of ammo.

As for comparisons to Mirror’s Edge that will undoubtedly be brought about by the game’s first-person platforming and use of violence as a last resort?

“We wanted the player to really feel the power of Mother Nature, to feel the danger coming from the collapsing towers and devastating rifts, feel the chaos happening all around him. There’s nothing like a first-person view to create that kind of emotion.”

Well, to answer that question you may want to read this list.

10. Silent Hill: The Room

You are locked in your apartment, completely cut off from the outside. It seems that no one else in your building can even hear your cries for help, and you have begun to have terrible nightmares about the very room you are living in.

Finally, you find a way out. No, rather, you find a way deeper into this other realm- the realm of nightmares. True, this game does not follow the same basic formula of its predecessors, and in fact it’s barely has any story links to the classic original, but if you want an experience that has some of the craziest, most disturbing visuals in video game history, you owe it to yourself to play “The Room”. Truly, deeply frightening.

9. Resident Evil 2

It isn’t very often in any form of entertainment when the sequel is better than the original, but this is definately the case with RE:2. I still remember the first time I played this game on my friend’s system, and boy, did I have a blast! The Resident Evil series has always been more about ‘boo!’ scares than truly frightening imagery, but even so, who can deny that fighting a giant blob-like monster straight out of the fifties is tons of fun?

The best aspect of this game for me was how much emphasis was placed on the ’survival’ aspect of the ’survival horror’ label that the game was given. Truly, every bullet counted in this world, and you had to make strategically smart moves along the way, or else you would run out of options for survival later on. Ultimately, this game is much more action-oriented with a bit of a puzzle-solving aspect to it. If you want a classic game that still delivers the scares today, then I suggest you pick up a copy of RE:2 if you manage to find one.

P.S. It’s scarier with the lights off!

8. Fatal Frame

The creators of this Japanese Horror-fest gave a completely different spin on how we saw and played Horror games. In this gem, you play as a girl who is moving throughout haunted locations looking for ghosts. Your means of defense is . . . a camera? :\

Yes, yes, it may not sound all that fun in theory, but truly, play this game for a couple hours and you’ll begin to see what makes it so great. The use of mood and atmosphere is very good here, as well as how sound and visual play intricate parts in giving the player that feeling of dread just before a scare is about to unleash on their timid gamer soul..

It may not be as focused on violence as its fellows within the genre, but “Fatal Frame” delivers if it’s what you’re looking for in a Horror title.

7. Resident Evil: Survivor

This game is tough to address, because many people have alot of problems with it. For one thing, the game is a part of a much bigger series known as biggest Survivor Horror series, yet Capcom made sure that the storyline took place within the gaming experience. As a result, we get a very interesting game story-wise, but a very unusual entry in the RE series due to its completely re-worked and revisioned control scheme.

In this game, you are someone who has no idea who he is or what he is doing here among the zombies. So your goal is to merely find answers. Along the way you will stumble upon clues that will help fill in alot of the gaps, but the first-person perspective in my opinion bumps up the creep factor to the ninth degree.

I have never been so terrified to open a door in my whole gaming life. More often than not, I would end up entering a new room, then hear the sound of raspy breathing right next to me. As the hairs on the back of my neck began to stand up, I had no choice but to look in the direction of the sound. Then– ARGH!!!!

6. BioShock

You are a victim of a plane crash in 1960. You are lucky enough to be the sole survivor of the catastrophe, and among the burning wreckage you manage to see what appears to be a lighthouse and a shore nearby. As you move toward the light, you begin to feel more and more compelled to venture further.

You step inside the tower, and find yourself inexplicably being lowered deeper and deeper underwater by a lift of some sort. This ride leads you into the heart of an underground city known as ‘Rapture’, a place that was envisioned as a paradise where artists and scientists could venture into any curiosity without fear of being reprimanded by a higher authority, but it becomes very clear almost immediately after you take your first steps into the once-happy utopia that something has gone very, very wrong. . .

‘BioShock’ truly is revolutionary because it manages to scare the player without too many cheap moments of merely startling them. Sound is very important in this game, as you can hear the crazed citizens of Rapture talking amongst themselves and/or moving about in the next room before actually seeing them. Other times you will see a long shadow cast on a wall, or you will hear the distant moan of a Big Daddy, and that is when you begin to dread walking any further down your path. The best part about this game is– no undead!

5. Half-Life 2

I know what you’re thinking; Half-Life is more or less an action-oriented game, but let me assure you, HL2 has its moments that send pure fear through one’s body. The most prominent of scary moments in this game is of course the dreaded ‘Ravenholm’; a zombie-infested town that has long been cut off from the rest of the game’s locations, yet you get to take a ’shortcut’ through it’s moaning allyways, oh, goody.

From the terrible screaming of agony from the headcrab zombies to the quick, springy headcrabs that would like nothing more but to swallow your head whole to the strong, cheetah-speed runners referred to as the fast zombies, you will have your survival (and your nervous system) cut out for you in this game.

4. Silent Hill 2

You are James Sunderland, and you have received a letter from your late wife stating that she waits for you in Silent Hill. Personal, searching out the undead incarnation of my nagging significant other within a town that is just crawling with monstrous abominations doesn’t seem like my idea of a vacation, but James here thought it was just what he needed. I guess his life was going a little too normal for his taste, so he needed a good mind-f*ck. This game is argued by many to be the most terrifying of all the Silent Hill entries, and I can definitely see why.

This game was revolutionary in many ways, but something that shouldn’t go unnoticed is the extremely customizable difficulty setting. You can choose to either A: Have extremely difficult enemies and extremely easy puzzles, or B: Have pushovers as enemies and true mind-benders as puzzles. Something that I will never forget about this frightening experience: the sound of metal dragging along the floor announcing the presence of Pyramid Head, the game’s most terrifying enemy. Good times, good times.

3. Dead Space

The newest ’scariest game’, in which you are battling an alien infection aboard a spacecraft that turns crew members into zombie-like antagonists. You’re going to need some diapers if you intend to sit down and play this thing for an extended periods of time.

2. Siren

A truly terrifying experience that is a completely worthy addition to the list. This has been somewhat overlooked for whatever reason, but it still remains one of my favorites. The real-life visuals featured in the game paired with a much stealthier approach at Horror games, playing makes this game a gem worth looking into.

The best part is: a reworked PS3 version of this game is now available for download for PSN in North America and Europe. You owe it to yourself to go and buy it. Off you go.

1. Silent Hill

Yeah, three Silent Hill games in one list may seem like a bit much, but the fact remains that this series has always managed to be the scariest of them all, every time, and that deserves recognition. What better way to tip our hats to this amazing, frightening series than to give the number one spot of our list to the one that started it all?

Well, there you have it, ladies and gents; a comprehensive list of some of the most terrifying virtual experiences available thus far. I hope you enjoy every last one of them. Oh, and . . . you might want to cover the couch with something easily washable.

So they go out to check out the distress call and when on the ship they find out that the ship is over run by an alien race called Necromorphs, who dependent upon necrotic flesh.

In this game Isaac has alot of weapons at his disposal and one of the many weapons that you will have is the plasma cutter. This weapon is used to, as it’s name suggested, cut enemy’s up with a plasma blast or ray. Another weapon in the game is the industrial lasers, which is basically a laser. Also each weapon in the game has a alternate attack or secondary fire, which, thank god, has just as much usage as the weapons primary fire. The types of weapons to pick from are flamethrowers, lasers, saws and, what they didn’t show you in trailers, Isaac’s vista of telekinetic abilities which allow to slow down time and etc.

One of the many things that make this game epic is the ability for you to build your own weapons from blueprints that can be found all over the game. This also goes for ammo, items, and suit upgrades but, nothing is more important then upgrading your suit because it is crucial to your survival in the game. Upgrading your suit also gives it some nice graphical upgrades to “the Rig”, which really adds to the games replay ability.

Nothing is more important in this game than it’s zero-gravity environments which adds a nice graphical and technical aspect to the game. When you enter the games zero-gravity environments one of the first things that you will notice is that the hologram display on Issac’s back will now show how much oxygen you have remaining. One of the coolest thing we saw when you are in this mode is the ability leap across entire rooms, and shoot enemies floating around in the air. This really adds to the zero-gravity feel and it makes you feel like you’re in space.

Closing statement:

For a now fan of this game, this game has everything that you would want for a video game from epic boss battles, big guns and even a crazy death gallery. Trust us when we say that this game is one of the greatest horror titles ever made and they really didn’t miss anything with this one and yes, it’s “even better then Resident Evil.”

According to ComputerandVideoGames, first review for EA’s impressive survival horror game is in and that the fans will be very happy with the verdict. In the latest Xbox World 360 mag, which is on shelves today, it revealed a score of 91% and it claims that Capcom should take note, “Because EA can teach them a thing or three about survival horror.” Sounds like Resident Evil 5 had just have meet it’s match. “Keeping a clear head sits just below keeping a head at all in the importance stakes,” it says. “Because unless you carefully pick the limbs off the approaching enemies you’ll find yourself surrounded with an empty cartridge in your weapon.”

“The Ishimura has a fully designed vent system which allows monsters to make their own way through the ship. Fail to stop them before they jump into an air duct and they’ll pop out behind you minutes later and take two bites out of your arse.”

But Dead Space’s real showpiece, continues the review, is its Zero G environments. “When the gravity is removed the fun really starts,” it says. “Usually the space hopping is combined with a lack of oxygen. If you’ve not been bolstering your O2 supplied via the BENCH upgrade system, the time limit can make for a tense scramble for the next airlock.”

A rumor has been circulating throughout the web, stating that Capcom could be bring one of there beloved games to the PlayStation Portable system for sometime now. But, according to the Japaneses PSP Game Listing for Capcom, Capcom maybe bring Devil May Cry to the PlayStation Portable after all. The list shows recently released and unreleased PSP titles, when the list it translated it says the release date is "To Be Determined". Could this mean that Capcom maybe planning to reveal the PSP version of the game at the upcoming E3 this month? We really don’t know at this point but lets just hope they are.

Update: There has been a title change becuase of bad wording also there has been a little editing done to the story.

In the interview he was asked if they would have a free weekend-This would give player a chance to play the game through Steam then have a chance to buy it- He said that "We’re kicking around a lot of ideas now and nothing’s final" but did say that there would “definitely” be a free weekend with a very possible demo.

Valve believes in quality and even though “the game is pretty much playable all the way through right now” they still want to fine tune the game to make sure that it is “approachable to players of all skills.” Doug also commented that Valve is interested in branching out into other genres such as MMOGs and family-friendly titles.
