Though Rocksteady Studios have proven themselves masterful, studio head Sefton Hill believes that Arkham Asylum “won’t” be the studios most renowned work. Despite its glowing reception — both critically and commercially — Hill stated that the studio still has “places to go”; they still have room to grow.

“As we were designing Arkham, our confidence as a studio had begun to grow,” said Hill. “After the release it grew even further. Now I’m really excited, because, as a developer, I look at our team and I don’t think the studio has hit its peak. I still think we have places to go.”

“I’ve seen us grow as a company – and I mean in terms of confidence and ability – and I genuinely can see us grow further still. I don’t think Arkham Asylum is going to be the best game we make. We’re growing and developing as a company all the time.”

Hill then stated that the games critical acclaim helped the team grow. “A good review score will make you think, ‘you know what, let’s have faith in what we’re doing because we believe we can make something special’. That was true in Arkham; the boldest decisions we made were the ones that paid off the biggest. So, in a sense, those review scores are important because they end up justifying those risks.”

Rocksteady’s currently developing the sequel, Arkham City, due out next Autumn. Though details are slim at the movement, its been said that Arkham City, itself, is a “heavily fortified” zone in the center of Gotham City and is home to all of Gotham’s “thugs, gangsters, and insane criminal masterminds.”

Information revealed by Rocksteady’s Sefton Hill confirms that the Batman: Arkham Asylum The Joker dowloadable content is a Sony exclusive. Meaning that The Joker will not be available as a playable character for the Xbox 360 version of the game anytime soon, or in the future.

However, he did have some good news for 360 fans, Hill stated that more downloadable content is in the works for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game.
