A backlash against modern day war game, Six Days in Fallujah, saw publisher Konami dropping support for the title, basically, landing Atomic Games, the developer, in hot water. However, without a new publisher for the title, Atomic Game today announced that they’ve, reluctantly, let there some of their developers go because of funding trouble for the title.

“Due to a mixture of fears about the edgy subject matter of Six Days in Fallujah, as well as low videogame sales this summer, we have been unable to secure full-scale funding from a major publisher for Six Days in Fallujah. This has caused us to reduce the size of our studio today,” reads word from the firm.

In the words of Marine officer Chesty Puller, “We’re surrounded. That simplifies the problem.” Development at Atomic will continue with a smaller team that will be funded by our sister company, Destineer – it continues to read.

Reports also emerged that creative director Juan Benito, founder of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon developer Red Storm, is also leaving the developer.

Probably one of the most ‘inFamous’ titles to release this year, it seems that the game is about to have a change of release date.

A rep for Sucker Punch Productions, has confirmed to the team at Blend Games that they’re looking at a late Spring release date for inFamous. “Spring doesn’t end until June 21st so you can do the math on that,” said the rep.

True, but it can also have a May release date. But, anyway this is a rumor, that it will so feel free to Juggle around your ideas of the release date.

A YouTube video has hit the web proclaiming that it’s the Dead Rising 2 trailer and guys close to Capcom have confirmed that is this the real deal.

I had a chance to contact a rep from Capcom and nothing can be ‘officially said’ because they cannot confirmed anything just yet. But, from this video we can find out some  information about Dead Rising 2.

The video has a reference to a drug that turns out ‘to almost be complete effective’ against the outbreak. Anyway, the video then moves to a casino it shows Isabella Keyes from the first game pushing a giant hamster ball, which they say is a new weapon from in the game.

However, if the video is true, it appears to confirm that Dead Rising 2 will be set in Las Vegas because of the casino parts of the trailer, but as of now, one can only wait and see.

In 2007, the Games Convention became the biggest European trade and consumer games show, but this year even it couldn’t handle the heat, which can be a number of things.

Today, according to many inside sources (GI.Biz being one), this isn’t a rumor, it looks like the Leipzig Game Convention has officially been cancelled.

“In view of the new situation in terms of competition on the German trade fair market, Leipziger Messe would be dropping the GC – Games Convention from the 2009 calendar,” said Leipziger Messe in a statement.

Also commenting on the matter was the Games Convention CEO, Wolfgang Marzin, saying, “if the industry is again in search of a platform for console and PC games and hardware with the know-how of the GC – Games Convention, we will immediately be available.”

In response to the latest PlayStation Portable 2 rumors, which were started by IGN, a rep from Sony has replied to the, so-called, ‘non-sense’ rumors.

When speaking to TechRadar yesterday, a SCEE rep told them that in no uncertain terms that there were definitely no current plans for a PSP 2, despite IGN’s claims from its unnamed sources.

To quote original IGN article: IGN has learned from several credible sources that the PSP 2 is indeed on the horizon, and will be packing multi-touch technology. According to our sources, the PSP 2 will feature a widescreen multi-touch interface comparable to that of the iPhone for both in-game control and menu navigation.

When Activision dropped most of there upcoming games for the merger with Blizzard, that we thought were going to be good, the video game version of the hit movie Ghostbusters was a victim. Then there was that rumor going around that the game was happily picked up by the guys over at Atari, and soon after that things changed.

Now, Atari has confirmed that the game will be releasing in June of next year, which by the is way more specific than “sometime in 2009.” However, the other games dropped by the merger have been pick up for next year release dates.

The original Dead Rising was a solid Xbox 360 exclusive that kept gamers playing over and over again, but that was about it for the game title, until now. A source close to Canadian developer Blue Castle Games has told the guys over at Eurogamer that the studio is making a sequel to Dead Rising. Rumours that the Vancouver-based outfit was working on the zombie project first emerged last year, but neither the developer nor publisher Capcom has confirmed anything on the record.

The source said: “Everyone’s really excited; the team has obviously seen the rumours and it’s been hard to keep quiet, but they can’t wait to show off the game.”

Unfortunately, they weren’t quick to give any details on the title or when we’ll be likely to see it. Blue Castle has so far released two baseball titles all with 2K Games, including The Bigs, and the recently announced MLB Front Office Manager.

Microsoft has shipped 22.5m Xbox 360s through September 2008 and should pass the totals of the original Xbox, which shipped 24.7m worldwide, next quarter. This was revealed in Microsoft’s updated system results earlier today for the Xbox 360, the company is reporting that they shipped 2.2m consoles from July 1 to Sept 30 bringing the total number to 22.5m shipped since launch.

For Microsoft, Q1, Q5, and Q9 are the quarters ending December. Given that Q1 was the supply constrained launch in 2005, and that the original Xbox only shipped 24.7m units worldwide, the Xbox 360 should top its predecessor next quarter.

What are you planing to do this Monday? Well, I hope you didn’t plan anything extreme tomorrow on Xbox Live because Microsoft revealed sometime last week that Xbox Live will be shutting down for some major re-construction. And I’m writing this article to remind you all that Xbox Live would not be working tomorrow. But, for some of us this wouldn’t matter mainly because you don’t have Xbox Live or you were planning to finally beat that single player game that’s is super hard. Here’s Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb had to say:

“As I mentioned earlier in the week, tomorrow (Monday, 9/29/2008) from 12:01 AM PST for up to 24 hours, Xbox Live will be offline for maintenance. As a result, Xbox LIVE and the ‘My Xbox’ section of Xbox.com will be unavailable, and the Xbox forums will be in read only mode (you won’t be able to post.) The remainder of Xbox.com will be available with limited interruptions. When the service returns, you will not have any new features and you will not have the new Xbox experience update. That will happen later this Fall. I will update my Twitter when the service returns.”

But, anyway this service maintenance update is for the “New Xbox Experience”, which will adds Mii-like Avatars to a new dashboard. The new Xbox experience is set to hit this November on the Xbox 360.

According to PlayStation Beyond , Gamestop has posted God Of War III for a March 2, 2009 release date, while the retailer release dates are not usually a reliable source of information. God Of War I and II released in March of 2005 and 2007 respectively, and Chains Of Olympus for the PSP came out this past March. 3 God Of War titles all in March. And so you get the point…….

This day couldn’t get any better, first it was the confirmation of the 360 price cut, then the rumor that the Lost Planet movie will be in there sometime in 2011 and now this. According to Nintendo Everything , in the latest issue of NGamer “promises that Disaster: Day of Crisis will be at E3.” There has not been too much information on the game as of late, the most of which only reported a delay in the Japanese release date. Every since that report no new launch date has been scheduled and Disaster seemed to be heading to the vaults.

Isn’t it funny how many times inside sources are used in a rumor. According to Sarcastic Gamer’s “protected source”, Halo 4 is already in full development over at Bungie. The source didn’t get the chance to give them any details on the rumored game at this point, but he/she did confirm for sure that Halo 4 is an official project in development.

We thought Infinity Ward was taking a break after making Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare , which made game of the year a rumor came in today saying that there working on a brand new sci-fi title.

An insider had a chance to talk to TalkPlayStation and stated “we are currently working on a new sci-fi title, we cannot release any more information as of yet, we may or may not announce it at E3″.

Seeing that Infinity Ward did great wonderful job with the military genre as a whole, we can have faith that they will not let us down if this rumor is true.
