This holiday season is a huge one for video games; with games selling a number of millions within weeks or, even, a day. However, there are a good number of “underdogs” within this holiday season, who sadly have little public awareness – therefore, they’re producers of low sales. But, it seems that these two underdogs (Brutal Legend and DJ Hero) are, actually, doing very will for their first month on the market.

Released on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Brutal Legend sold over 215,000 units in the month of October, compared with DJ Hero‘s 122,300 units on the 360, PS3, Wii, and PlayStation 2 within the same month. Which is, somewhat, a surprise seeing that, one, they’re both holiday underdogs and, two, DJ Hero’s prices range from $100-$200, $200 being the games “Renegade Edition” – the highest edition.

This game is sounding better and better each time. Ben Feder, president of Rockstar parent Take-Two Interactive, believes that Agent could achieve the same level of success as their Grand Theft Auto series, given its development is being overseen by Rockstar North founders Sam and Dan Houser.

“We think this has the potential to be yet another great Rockstar North franchise title….It’s the Houser Brothers and Rockstar North. It’s the A team working on an AAA title. I think the subject matter, the characters, the story, the environment, the background–all the elements are there. It’s such a rich environment to play in.”

When speaking with GameSpot on the Electronic Entertainment Expo show floor, Feder explained the decision to develop the game solely for Sony’s console.

“The trade-offs a publisher will typically make is, if you’re platform-agnostic, you get a larger installed base,” he said. “You’re platform exclusive when you get the right kind of support from first parties.”

Take-Two believes Sony will offer the same kind of support which made Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – all initially PlayStation 2 exclusives – three of the top 10 selling games of all time.

At this phase in the cycle, when you’re trying to launch a new franchise, exclusivity can really help you launch the franchise. It can give you the kind of platform that you need to start exclusive, start in the right kind of way with the right kind of partner. Exclusivity does work,” Founder continued.

“I have a lot of confidence in Sony. I have a lot of confidence in their ability to lead the market, as they always have,” declared Feder. “Their console is a terrific platform to be developing for, and Agent is a great testament as to our belief in what that platform can do, and what they can do with us as part of a partnership.”

Most likely one of the biggest franchises that Sony has ever released, has been announced, recently, to be heading to the PSP. However, we have been given the quiet eye when it comes to details on any part of the game. Until now.

In an interview with Pocket Gamer, MotorStorm: Arctic Edge director Richard Ogden revealed that the game will support eight player multi player. But, the PlayStation 2 version will feature a ‘split screen for two player races’.

“The PSP version will have Ad Hoc and Infrastructure Mode multiplayer for as many as eight players, whereas the PS2 has split screen for two player races at home on the sofa. The PS2 version will also have uprated graphical content to suit its technical capabilities and bigger screen area,” said Ogden.

Trust us when we say that this isn’t a Apirls fools joke. Today, Sony has announced that Jak and his mischievous sidekick Daxter are back together, and for the first time-ever on the PSP and PS2 in Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier.

Picking up from where the original Jak and Daxter trilogy left off, Jak and furry friend Daxter team up with their friend Kiera on her quest to become a Sage and save their world from the threat of darkness. Besides Sony’s claims that “nobody will ever use 100 percent of [the PlayStation 3's] capability.” It now seems that Square-Enix producer, Yoshinori Kitase, claims that Final Fantasy XIII has maxes out all the capability of the system.

In an interview with Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation 3, Kitase, when being asked about how much power the Final Fantasy XIII demo uses, he had this to say.

“Doesn’t the demo use about 50 percent of its power? Of course, I think the retail version will make use of nearly 100 percent,” he told the magazine.

He went on to say that the game will make use of all the PS3′s hardware power much like Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy X made use of the PlayStation and the PlayStation 2, respectively. Kitase added that there won’t be any disc swap issues due to Blu-ray and the PS3′s hard drive.

This news only makes one wonder, what does this mean for the 360 version of the game?

In the pages of Game Informer it revealed yet another strongly awaited title that’s sure to keep you wanting more. The new details are from the cover article of the magazine, which is about God of War III, but the only way you can find them out is if you read them below.

Kratos will be battling plenty more foes, with as many as 50 enemies on screen at a time, as opposed to the max of 15 found in previous games; He also has a new ability that allows him to “control” certain monsters; There will be much more differentiation between the weapons, allowing for more variety in combat; Enemies will have improved AI, and will also feature much more visual variety; There will be more boss fights as compared to the first game, but fewer than the second; As per usual, there will be no multiplayer component.

In past years, super hero movies have made many leaps and bounds pasting for some very interest showings in the video game market. But, they also have been know to be less then entertaining when it comes down to fact, but let’s hope that this isn’t the case with X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Today, X-Men Origins: Wolverine has dipped its nails into the Internet leaving a teaser site in its wake, Uncaged.com. The teaser site reveals an exclusive 3D screen-shot that has been seen before, until now.

And, sadly, that’s all the teaser site had to reveal, but it does display that the full site will be launching soon.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is set to release on the PC, X360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PSP and DS around May 1, which is the movie release date.

After the PSP version of the hit PS2 game, God of War, video game developer Ready At Dawn reported that it wasn’t going to be making anymore PSP games in the future.

Now, however according to a post on their official website, 2 out of 5 top PSP games sold on Amazon in the US last week were Ready At Dawn games. And right after they reported that, there was a little messages on the bottom of the post saying, “maybe we should reconsider this whole ‘no more PSP games’ thing because we seem to be doing pretty good at it.”

It was report back in June that the company wasn’t going to be making anymore PSP games,  here’s what the company said,  “we’re now officially done with PSP development.”

“Today we sent all out devkits back and seeing all these boxes ready to be picked up definitely marks the end of an era here at Ready at Dawn,” the company continued.

Yes, I know it’s kind of childish but I love this show and for some reason I can’t get Ben “10″ Tennyson out of my mind, not in that way. But it looks like children all over the world have been hell bent on getting there hands on his latest game because the same guys that published Dark Sector have revealed that Ben 10: Protector of Earth has sold 2.5 million copy worldwide.

According to Edge, D3Publisher said Wednesday that its Cartoon Network licensed title Ben 10: Protector of Earth has sold 2.5 million units worldwide. The multiplatform game, now selling for $19, launched just over a year ago on October 30, 2007. It was the first Ben 10 interactive game, and is available for Wii, PS2, DS and PSP.

“We look forward to even greater success with the recently released sequel,” said Yoji Takenaka, president and CEO, North America and Europe at D3P.

D3P released a follow-up on October 28 this year, titled Ben 10: Alien Force The Game. The new title retails for $39 on Wii and PS2, and for $29 on DS and PSP.The Ben 10 Cartoon Network series revolves around a 10-year-old boy who finds an alien device that grants him superpowers.

It was once mandatory that game developers check with Sony on there games content in Europe. Now, when speaking at the Casual Connect conference in Kiev, SCEE’s George Bain confirmed that PS2 would now be “effectively an open platform” in Europe. This is thought to be an attempt to encourage regional developers in countries such as India and Russia to make “low-development cost titles and release them in their market”.

George Bain also confirmed that Sony’s entire content approval system has been streamlined into a single global system. Which makes it easier for developers to submit their content online under one website not separated by regions. Therefore, it makes it easier for developers to get their further downloadable content out, after there first one passes through which makes it faster because they don’t have to go through the process again.

Remember all the fun you had playing Phantasy Star on the Playstation 2 and Sega Dreamcast? Well, imagine being able to relive all those moments over and over again on your PSP. Since the game has only been given a date for Europe there’s no date yet for the US version of the game. But, yet today Sega announced that the game will indeed be headed to the US, but there’s also a bad side to every good one, according to Sega the game has been limited to “ad-hoc” mode instead of online Multiplayer. So yeah, once again America gets the short side of the stick, but it’s ok. We also will get four player co-op and, of courses, single-player story mode.

KOEI has today revealed that they will be bringing its mega-hit Tactical Action game, Dynasty Warriors 6, to PlayStation 2 and Windows-based PC. Dynasty Warriors 6 will debut on PlayStation 2 as a massive two-disc collection action-packed with the full cast of playable characters and pulse-pounding scenarios of the original release, plus platform-exclusive content including never-before-seen “Musou” mode stories, incredible new weapons, five additional stages and 10 new scenarios. The PlayStation 2 version will ship to retailers starting November 18, 2008, while the version for Windows-based PC will be available simultaneously and exclusively through digital download.

Well maybe they should have just delayed the game all together. According to an article by Gamekyo, Atari has announced that the delayed PlayStation 3 version of Alone in the Dark is “undergo improvements”. The improvements will be in terms of gameplay, the games other version really didn’t do good gameplay-wise. If you didn’t know the recently released version of Alone in the Dark for the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii didn’t get nice review from many online journalist getting mostly 3′s and 5′s. We have yet to review this game mostly because we have yet to beat the game or even buy it.

During Comic-Con, which took place yesterday in San Diego, Activision comfirmed the development of Marvel Ultimate Alliance II: Fusion. Which is scheduled for PS3, Wii and X360, the game is currently in production at Vicarious Visions studios . No other information was given to us, sadly, but if you pick up the latest issue of GameInformer there should be more details in their Marvel Ultimate Alliance II article.

If you didn’t know by now, Sega is preparing another installment in Sonic series entitled, Sonic Unleashed. Today, Sega revealed a new trailer for that very game, in the trailer it showcases were sonic or werehog  in action around the city. Here is just some information you need to know, "….By day Sonic will be the blue hedgehog we all know and love but, when the sun sets, he turns into a werehog with claws and fangs". The game is set for a PS2, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 released in November.

Star Wars: Battlefront III ,as of right now, looks like it maybe a reality as somewhat states current rumors on the net. While it is in development at Free Radical, a Amazon.com listing provides that it will be launched on every major console. Everyone will have to wait until the coming up E3 event next week for the official announcement from Lucas Arts. This is great news for fans of Star Wars and it will also be a good chance for a new generation a chance to uncover the series of great quality gaming , so just wait you’ll see!

Today Eden Games officially announced that the development for the fifth installment survival horror video game series under the same name created by Infogrames. Has completed development the game will be released on PC, Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 2 in June 2008 in Europe, with North America following in June as well. While the PS3 verision has been delayed PS3 owners will get exclusive episodic content to make up for this downfall.

Set during 2008, the story continues with Edward Carnby, the main protagonist from the original game, looking for answers to strange supernatural and bizarre occurrences while battling his way through the opposition in New York City’s Central Park.

In the last day or so we have observed many gameplay videos for Sony’s upcoming game Killzone 2. Has we set here at home we note all the video we have seen so far this game is nothing short of a hit. The game has to be one of best looking games I have ever seen on the playstation 3. The videos we have seen so far doesn’t suprised me because has we all know we have been waiting for Killzone 2 a long time and Sony wants it’s fans to know the full power of the PlayStation 3.

This game is truly going to put the PlayStation 3 to the test and has has to be my vote for game of the year for 09 many other year’s after that. We cannot wait to acquire our hands on the game in early 2009 so be sure to pick it up. I know we will.

Sony continues it’s policy of expanding it’s target and keeping alive its best-selling console. After Silent Hill Origins and Ratchet & Clank it’s Daxter and WipEout turn to be adapted. Today, sony announced that WipEout Pulse and Daxter will be heading to the PlayStation 2. WipEout Pulse will be available in September of this year and Daxter will be available sometime next year. It’s difficult to choose between these hit games but, it’s up to you to decide.

The fans who were long awaiting Sony’s blockbuster, Killzone 2, will have to wait abit longer to finally get the game in there hands. Today, at a press conference held at PlayStation Day in London Sony announced that Killzone 2 will be available February of 09. It’s unclear at the moment if it is a global report or whether Europe should be the only one concerned with this matter.

Harmonix has announced that Rock Band, as we know it, has surpassed the three million copies sold mark. But wait, that’s not all. We also so have gotten word that nearly ten million songs were downloaded since the launch of the game last November. The game will be revealed in Europe on the Xbox 360 in 20 days and on August 29 on PS3, PS2 and Wii.

Sega has released a new trailer and video for there upcoming game Iron Man, the first video showcase a new trailer for the game and the second video is "The Making Of Iron Man: The Video Game" with Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man/Tony Stark in the movie. The game is set to be released on the Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation Portable, Nintendo DS, Wii, Xbox 360 and PC.
