Evolution Studios, the studio behind the MotorStorm series, have announced, MotorStorm Apocalypse, the fourth installment into the off-road racing series. That said, as a combination of feedback, the development team are developing, what they believe, a “more satisfying overall game experience”.

The latest installment will be a “detour” for the series, as it takes place in an urban environment — an environment ravaged by a cataclysmic earthquake — where aftershocks that change the landscape and shift routes on the button. The environment will be “ripped to pieces, in real-time, as you race”.

However, that’s not the only change in store for the series. They’ve also developed a single-player story mode that lets the player experience the narrative unfold from the eyes of three characters representing the game’s different difficulty settings; Rocky, beginner; Survivor, medium; and Big Dog, hard.

The game will also feature sixteen player online multiplayer races and four-player local split-screen — or, you can bring those local four-players into an online race with you. In addition, the online mode will feature “massive vehicle customization” allowing players to change their parts, shapes, vinyls and other accessories.

There have been many rumors of games making their way on to the PSP, now according to a dutch gaming website we will be adding one more game to the list. According to PS3Life, after games like Resistance, MotorStorm will be making it’s way on to the PSP for the first time. The dutch gaming website also reports that a leak informed them of this story stating that a British retail chain is calling for a MotorStorm for the PSP. Now, we are going to have to wait for the official word from Sony.

MotorStorm was one of the first games for the PlayStation 3 and it’s planing to make a second trip on the PS3 with MotorStorm: Pacific Rift. The game was orginal called MotorStorm 2, but the name was recently change by Sony, or something like that, into MotorStorm: Pacific Rift. Sony has just confirmed to the guys over at Joystiq that the 80GB PlayStation 3 bundled with Motorstorm , is no longer being supplied to retailers. Here’s what Sony had to say "Retailers aren’t getting any new inventory of the 80GB Motorstorm bundle,". Yeah, that’s how they put it down, short and simple.

We just want you to know that this doesn’t mean that the 80GB model is out of production, in fact Sony is switching there focus to the forthcoming 80GB bundle that features a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 and a DualShock 3.
