According to an undisclosed court document, Langdell has lost a crucial court case against publishing giant <a href="http://www.gamercenteronline.net/tag/ea/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with EA">EA</a> pertaining to the word &#8220;Edge&#8221;, which Langdell had prevoiusly trademarked.</p><p>The court has decided to denied Langdell&#8217;s motion for injunction, citing that it believes that Langdell made fraudulent statements to the US Patent and Trademark Office and strongly believes that Langdell is &#8220;suspect,&#8221; and has been &#8220;trolling&#8221; the <a href="http://www.gamercenteronline.net/tag/game/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Game">game</a> industry for licensing opportunities. His actions could possibly warrant &#8220;criminal penalties.&#8221;</p><p>This is because Langdell has been trolling game developers for quite sometime now by holding a trademark on the word &#8220;Edge&#8221; and has used that trademark to legally harass anyone who uses it in the title of the game.</p><p>&#8220;Given the suspect nature of Dr. Langdell&#8217;s representations to both the USPTO and the Court concerning plaintiff&#8217;s current and future sales and <a href="http://www.gamercenteronline.net/tag/business/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Business">business</a> activities, it is an open question whether plaintiff&#8217;s <a href="http://www.gamercenteronline.net/tag/business/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Business">business</a> activities legitimately extend beyond trolling various gaming-related industries for licensing opportunities,&#8221; said the court.</p><p>&#8220;EA also presents compelling evidence that there was no bona fide use of the &#8216;Edge&#8217; mark in commerce by plaintiff, its licensees, or its predecessors in interest at all between 1989 and to at least 2003.
