Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is, undoubtedly, one of the best looking games of this console generation, however, it seems that the upcoming Metal Gear title, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, won’t be utilizing that engine.

Instead, its developers Kojima Productions are building an engine that can be used for multiplatform proposes. They also promise that Metal Gear Solid: Rising will end up looking better than Guns of the Patriots - revealed in their latest podcast.

“We’re redoing the engine from scratch, and it’s going to look amazing,” says podcast host Sean Eyestone. “It’s going to be a big project like Metal Gear Solid 4. The entire team is serious about making it look as good as possible on every platform.”

Yesterdays, rumor of there going to be a new extended ending for Metal Gear Solid 4 was just exposed and was burnt down by Konami. According to the report from CVG, Konami has told them that there are “no plans” to release further expansions for Metal Gear Solid 4. Repeating reports suggested an alternative ending might be delivered via DLC next month, which just happens to be December. “There are no plans to expand Metal Gear Solid 4,” they were told, but “All further expansions are planned for Metal Gear Online,”

The rep states Konami plans to release the next MGO expansion, the Meme Expansion, in November. While on the subject, Konami is also putting out 500 limited edition MGS4 watches for eager collectors to go mental over over at Game Station’s online store. Which was revealed right after the “Metal Gear Online Is One Million Strong” announcement.

The game has been out since June and even if you had to pay for extra characters the game has been going strong since. And today Konami announced that Metal Gear Online, which is the multiplayer aspect of Metal Gear Solid 4, now has reached million members worldwide, which is a huge number. They also revealed that to celebrate this announcement they will be giving free stuff and discounts just for you fanboys.

During the Commemorative Campaign period of November 25, 2008 from December 9, 2008, all players who own a Metal Gear Online online ID and have access to Metal Gear Online will receive 10,000 reward points each. The 10,000 reward points will be updated to account owners on the last day of the campaign, December 9, 2008.

Player characters who access Metal Gear Online during the Commemorative Campaign period will also have a chance to be one of 30 people worldwide to receive an additional 100,000 reward points.

2K has not been hiding much after revealing Bioshock for the PlayStation 3, as we once again receive another update from them about the upcoming game. It was not to long ago that 2K games revealed the official release date for Bioshock on the PS3, which just happens to be on October 21. Now, we have learned that Bioshock, and much like many other games on the PlayStation 3, will have a 5Gb mandatory install.

According to Videogaming 24/7, the 5Gb mandatory install will take about little over 10 minutes to complete. We can also tell you that you that it will not need to re-install the game after every chapter of the game, unlike in Metal Gear Solid 4. As you may know, mainly everything that was released as downloadable content in BioShock for the Xbox 360 will released in the PS3 version of the game. The game was rumoured to have a sizable install after the BBFC rated the game back in July, but 2K commented at the time that it was likely to have an install of “around 5 or 6 minutes” at most.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is just what long-time fans hoped for, but according to Famitsu Metal Gear Solid 4 is nothing but just another game not a system seller. According to some analysts, Microsoft could lower the price of its Xbox 360 in the USA. The manufacturer is expected at E3 2008 to make the announcement, which will position Microsoft with a new generation console price that will exceede the competition.

Also the analysts thinks that the increase in sales of the PlayStation 3 – due to the success of Metal Gear Solid 4 – is the reason for the price drop.

For the people who live Japan ,Tokyo today is Metal Gear Solid Day. With this great day there is some Huge Metal Gear Solid 4 advertising all over the city  from one the size of a building,one all over the truck even video presentations of the game on the big Jumbotron. While there is nothing like this in the U.S we sure would have love to see this but we do have the lovely TV advertisement.

With the release of Metal Gear Solid 4 on it’s way, a rumor is going around that the original Metal Gear Solid might be heading to Xbox Live Arcade.

"MGS might be following its tactical steps onto the PS3 and PSP, via an Xbox Live Arcade infiltration. This is not too surprising, since the series has made its way onto non-Playstation consoles a number of times, and Microsoft even published MGS for the PC release."

As in other words, Metal Gears Solid maybe headed to XBLA but yet there’s still isn’t words from Konami, the makers of the game.

[Rumour: Metal Gear Solid Coming to XBLA via Ripten]

Konami has released new images the European Metal Gear Solid 4 limited edition on PlayStation 3, which contains in addition to the game a making-of Blu-ray, the original soundtrack and a Old Snake 20 cm action figurine. There will be only 25.000 unit, this pack will leave June 12 and will cost 100 euros (155.19 U.S. dollars).

Sony has just confirmed to the guys over at Joystiq that the 80GB PlayStation 3 bundled with Motorstorm , is no longer being supplied to retailers. Here’s what Sony had to say "Retailers aren’t getting any new inventory of the 80GB Motorstorm bundle,". Yeah, that’s how they put it down, short and simple.

We just want you to know that this doesn’t mean that the 80GB model is out of production, in fact Sony is switching there focus to the forthcoming 80GB bundle that features a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 and a DualShock 3.

Has you can see in the game you control two characters, a boy handling a pistol and a girl with a sword-like wlip. The author of the forthcoming Metal Gear Solid 4 GamePro review has confirmed that the game doesn’t have a 90 Minute Cut-Scene. He told the readers "I’ve beat the game twice, and am the author of the forthcoming GamePro review," he goes on to say "Ninety-minute-long cinemas in MGS4 sounds like an exaggeration. Like the other MGS games, MGS4 definitely has a cinematic quality. And yes, some of the cut-scenes in the game are elaborate and occasionally lengthy. But not a one, to my recollection, even approaches 90 minutes ."

It seems that the guys at Sony have come together to come out with new ways to play this upcoming ps3 game. In the video they show a young man who instead of looking at his TV screen looks at the reflection from his PS3 while playing the game. Many people may not understand this but, we all know that you would never get far playing the game like that.

In the current issue of the Official UK PlayStation Mag they posted new rumors for the PlayStation 3, the rumors arrived from a member of the N4G forums after the Metal Gear Solid 4 preview hit the web. There was word at GDC that there was a Uncharted 2 in the works, other then that we have not gain word that if the rumor is official.

According to the PlayStation Blog the Metal Gear Online will be available for download to you through the PlayStation Store on your PS3. Once completed, you will able you creat their own “character” for the game and customizable and upgradeable skills.

The Beta will support up to 16 players in a two maps (Blood Bath and Groznyj Grad). The beta is set to feature four different gameplay modes: Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, as well as Capture Missions and Annex Mission.
