Following its announcement, Capcom polled the fans asking them if they wanted the Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition content in hard-disc form or in a downloadable form. That said, excluding the “Wesker’s Mansion” mission – the first episode – Capcom announced the second episode of downloadable content for Resident Evil 5, “Desperate Escape”.

Desperate Escape, slated to release in March, features series characters Jill Valentine and Josh Stone as they attempt to escape a Tri-cell facility, as well as hordes of zombies. The Desperate Escape downloadable content takes place at the end of Resident Evil 5, as Jill and Josh race to help Chris and Sheva against Albert Wesker.

Desperate Escape will be available on March 3 for Xbox 360 and March 4 for PlayStation 3.

In a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata confirmed that popular series villain Albert Wesker will not be coming back. This being said when Kawata was asked if there was anyway for the villain to survive the events of Resident Evil 5.

“Even if you want Albert Wesker to come back,” Kawata told the crowd, “there’s no chance he’s coming back from that.”

This was later then confirmed as the “definitive answer” to the possible return of Wesker.

Last night at Capcom’s Resident Evil 5 launch party, Masachika Kawata, producer of the newly announced Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, shined some more light on the upcoming Umbrella Chronicles sequel.

“What we’re looking to do is go back to a ‘very dark’ style of Resident Evil,” Kawata said. “‘Dark’ is really a key word for this game. It will be shown in horror, in the storyline, in the emotions that the characters go through.” 

And according to Joystiq, they saw examples of this as Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield fought side-by-side through a zombie ravaged Racoon City. 

He also explained that the development team at Cavia are “putting a lot of care, a lot of attention into [improving] how the camera system works in a rail-based shooter.”

Announced in October of 2007, Resident Evil: Degeneration is already set to make it’s first global showing at TGS, Tokyo Game Show, on October the 10. Also on November 13th the video game movie is set to make it’s apparent at the Horror Film Festival in New York, which is in the US. Here’s a little statement on the game from the press release about the game:
