Throughout the progression of digital related media, programmers and consumers have had the ideal passion of reaching “limits”. That in mind, the Blu-ray Disc Association have announced a new “BDXL” format, providing a write-once option on both 100GB and 128GB discs with rewritable 100GB discs.

But, before you get too excited, it’s a completely new software specification; you’ll need an updated player — with a more powerful laser — in-order to access these discs. In other words, due to added disc layers, it could cause a serious problem for existing media players.

The Association also pointed at consumer versions release “in regions where BD recorders have achieved broad consumer acceptance.” However, that’s not all. They’ve also announced an IH-BD format, providing the flexibility to include both relevant personal data and critical data on the same physical disc. “IH-BD” is basically a 50GB disc split into two 25GB segments.

“Because both BDXL and IH-BD are specially designed formats with specific market segments in mind, newly-designed hardware is required to play back or record BDXL or IH-BD media. However, because the new media specifications are extensions of current Blu-ray Disc technology, future BDXL and IH-BD devices can be designed to support existing 25GB and 50GB Blu-ray Discs.”

Alright. Modern Warfare 2 may seem to capture image of war, but studio head Vince Zampella says that with Modern Warfare 2 Infinity Ward aims for entertainment, not realism.

“We go for authenticity not realism,” Zampella told Official PlayStation Magazine. “We’re not making a sim, we’re making entertainment. We want it to look real like an action movie.”

Zamplella explains why the futuristic weapons don’t ruin the game’s authenticity. “You see a guy in an action movie, what he does is a little over the top. It makes for a great movie.”

It’s time. After god knows how long since the teaser that shocked the inter-web, the Eastern Conference Final is finally upon us. During the end beginning of the second third fourth quarter of the Eastern Conference Final millions of fans and gamers were left at the edge of their seats with this very Modern Warfare 2 trailer.

That’s right. It seems that we don’t have to wait until E3 to get our hands on the a trailer that shows Modern Warfare 2 in action because on May 24th during the NBA Eastern Conference Finals on TNT we’ll be getting that chance. But, lucky they left us with a little tease, thanks Activision.
