Midway Newcastle may be on the verge of closing its doors, but that hasn’t stopped it from announcing its development on its newest IP, Necessary Force. However, its announcement isn’t a lost cause, the studio hopes that it can end its seek for a buyer with it.

Develop even had the chance of meeting up with studio head Craig Duncan to talk about the game, which after three months of work is playable, and says the team is not giving up just yet.

“The idea of a detective who sets his own rules is the sort of story that’s been around in movies for a while, but we don’t think anyone’s managed to capture the essence of those choices and consequences in games,” said Duncan. “That unprecedented level of open world influence and troubled morality is something we’re really keen to explore.”

“It’s really important that people know that this is a team that wants to stick together – sometimes when you look at buying a studio you can worry that the real talent, the people, will just flee the ship, leaving you with some IP, kit and an empty building; the pieces of the puzzle that aren’t really worth anything,” he added.

“But everyone here as worked together for at least two years, with the original core team still together after about ten years. We’ve been through the ups and downs and all want to stay working together.”

“Despite all that’s been going on, we’ve only had three people leave this year – it just goes to show that everyone wants to stay together, how galvanized they are as a team. They don’t know if they’re going to have a job in a month’s time, but they’re still putting in a huge amount of effort now; staying until nine in the evening working on this – and that’s because they’re all so motivated by the great project we’re working on.”

It looks like inFamous is about to sell a boat load of copies. According to the PlayStation Blog, after keeping this secret for a long time, Naughty Dog is tackling the task of creating a fully-realized multiplayer and co-op mode(s) for their upcoming title, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

And, as rumored, there will be beta of the game in inFamous, which will be of the multi-player mode and it will be releasing on June 3rd – inFamous releasing May 26.

However, the games’ full co-operative mode will be playable with up to 3 players: Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer along with a third character. In addition, the co-operative story will be different from the single-player campaign and there are mini-bosses to top the levels off.

Also the game will have a five versus five death-match in its Multiplayer as well as a Capture The Flag mode called Plunder.

“Adding a multiplayer aspect to the Uncharted franchise is a significant step in the replayability of the game,” said Christophe Balestra, co president Naughty Dog. “Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be the most impressive and ambitious game that Naughty Dog has done and we are thrilled to let our fans experience it this fall.”

In reports yesterday, it was rumored that Sony was planning an “electrifying announcement” – the announcement wasn’t the rumor – revealing a beta of Uncharted 2 in the upcoming inFamous title. Looks like the rumors were  correct.

According to Kotaku via a photo provided, on a Best Buy pre-order box-art for inFamous it reveals the existence of a Multi-player beta test for Uncharted 2′s Mutli-player mode. 

In addition, as originally announced, the pre-orders will give players early access to the inFamous demo. However, announcing that one of the best single player titles features an Mutli-player mode really is something “electrifying”. InFamous releases this May on the 26th exclusively on the PlayStation 3. 

Sony’s planning an “electrifying announcement” for April 27th and we all wonder what they are planning to announce. However, it seems that a very in-dept source, when it comes to things like this, thinks that it has came up with the answer.

According to GameZine.co.uk, an Uncharted 2: Among Thieves demo/beta will be included on the inFamous retail disc, which would underline the “electrifying” statement.

But, from the business stand point, this could be attempt from Sony to increase inFamous’ sale, which we have seen with the Final Fantasy XIII demo included on the FFVII: Advent Children Complete Blu-ray.

But, there’s another idea rumor. Following recent rumors that Naughty Dog is developing competitive and cooperative for Among Thieves, it seems that Naughty Dog may want to give it a spin in a beta of some kind – seen with Crackdown and the Halo 3 mutli-player beta. However, we’ll have to wait until the 27th to see if this rumor is real.

Many have been wondering when Sony was going to announce the release date for inFamous, I mean we already knew that it was coming this June. But, now, that isn’t the case because inFamous’ release date has been changed.

According to the PlayStationBlog, the game hasn’t been delayed, its release date has been up-ed to May 26 because the guys at Sucker Punch have been working so hard on it.

However, now with just a little over a month until the game hits shelves, the games’ pre-order goodness begins today, which gives you exclusive ‘Gigawatt Blades’ Super Power, a limited eddition inFamous costume for your Home Avatar, and early access to the official Game Demo on May 7.

We all have been wondering when our favorite anti-hero Cole McGrath would be taking a trip onto our console with is ‘electrifying arsenal of superpowers’.

Now, reports have indicated that inFamous will be headed our way in an worldwide launch this June. Along with the announcement, the official PlayStation Blog tells us that the game will indeed be getting a demo. They also have revealed that details on the demos release will be coming shortly.

They also revealed the box art for the upcoming game.

Before some gets too excited and drops there pants, this isn’t confirmation of the release target we are just re-laying down a rumor of the release date so… yeah.

Anyway, according to PSXExtreme, SCEA has sent out a press release announcing Killzone 2 as the leader of the pack for this year’s 2009 PlayStation 3 blockbusters. As part of the announcement, SCEA confirmed that a new TV advertising campaign would kick off this week; it’s called the ‘Bullet’ commercial.

And they say the ‘new ad was rendered entirely in-engine via the incredible power of the Killzone 2 engine and PS3 technology to preserve the unique visual and epic gameplay experience.’

“The game [Killzone 2] ushers in an unprecedented year of titles to hit the PlayStation platform throughout the year – mean this year- including the blockbuster exclusives Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, inFamous, MAG, Heavy Rain, God of War III and MLB 09 The Show.

Probably one of the most ‘inFamous’ titles to release this year, it seems that the game is about to have a change of release date.

A rep for Sucker Punch Productions, has confirmed to the team at Blend Games that they’re looking at a late Spring release date for inFamous. “Spring doesn’t end until June 21st so you can do the math on that,” said the rep.

True, but it can also have a May release date. But, anyway this is a rumor, that it will so feel free to Juggle around your ideas of the release date.

As you may already know, most of the games on the PlayStation 3 have an installation time that cuts most of the loading and it helps you complete the game easier. But, just like other PlayStation 3 games, inFamous will have an installation time, but it’s going to be a bit different.

According to Brian Flemming from Sucker Punch, in an interview with Destructoid, the 15-minute mandatory install for Infamous will not be immersion at the start of the game.

Flemming had spoke a bit about mandatory installs, saying that the developer believes the first 15 minutes of a game are the most crucial minutes for pulling gamers into the game.

“[The first 15 minutes] is where people will transition From The world that they have into your universe. And you have this chance to get them and move them into your space, and capture their attention. And if you F*** that up, whatever you did in that last boss battle just doesn’t matter.”

Flemming continued, explaining that while they are still toying with when, where, and how to place mandatory install, “that 15-minute install is an absolute non-starter for us”.
