If there’s ever going to be a sequel, it isn’t coming from its original developers, Ninja Theory. According to Ninja Theory studio head Tameem Antoniades, the development studio would have develop a Heavenly Sword sequel but Sony owns the IP and technologies needed for its development.

“I don’t know if Sony made any money on Heavenly Sword but we didn’t,” Antoniades said, who then added that the studio’s survival meant it had to quit developing exclusively one platform.

“There are pros and cons, if you’re exclusive you get more attention but when you’re multi-platform, at this stage in the cycle, there’s more competition. You’ve got to weigh it against each other,” he added. “But we couldn’t do Heavenly Sword 2 as a multi-platform because it’s owned by Sony, the tech we developed for that game is also owned by Sony.”

“Probably, I think we would have,” said Antoniades, when asked if they would have developed the sequel.

“But there’s a different dynamic with a platform holder. I mean, we signed up and we happy to sign up to it because it allowed our studio to grow and we’re really grateful for that, but it feels like as a studio we need to think about the next few years, the next games we release.”

“We want them to be multi-platform so we had to come up with a new idea,” he concluded.

But, this wasn’t the reason she made it on our list. It’s because she found away to avenge her father’s death and finish the mission.

Nariko – Heavenly Sword

Nariko wielder of the Heavenly Sword, an immense power that drains the wielder life force. Her clan believed that one day a predestined male would be born and would one day reclaim the sword. But, as you may already know, instead of a “predestined” male, our hero, Nariko was born. So why put her on this list? Well, it’s because with all of that stuff she was able to overcome them and show everyone that she was the predestined female for the job.

Eva – Metal Gear Solid Series

“Big Mama” or Eva was originated from the Metal Gear Solid series on the PlayStation systems as one of the key characters in Metal Gear Solid 3, the game where she had made her debut. Yeah, I know she not has popular as Lora, but that’s one of the reasons why she made it on the list. Ok, so yeah she’s cute, but if it wasn’t for her the Metal Gear Solid protagonists, Snake and Big Boss, would have a hard time finishing their mission.

Chun Li – Street Fighter Seires

Chun Li from the Street Fighter series made her debut in Street Fighter II as one of the game’s eight playable characters and as the solo female character of the game. Her main story was to avenge her father’s death, an undercover police agent who disappeared by the hand of M. Bison. By the end of the game she fulfills her mission and decides to return to her life as an ordinary girl. So why put her on the list? Well, it’s simple by doing this she made way for many other female characters in fighting games.

Elena Fisher – Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune

Elena Fisher from the very popular video game for the PlayStation 3, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, a reporter for Uncharted, a TV show documenting archaeological finds. Well, she is a newcomer so why put her on the list? One because she knows what she wants, if you didn’t know, when she heard that Nathan Drake was on to something big she hired a private detective to hunt him down. She did find him and joined him on his adventure. So willing yes she is. Second, she’s fun, but with attitude kind of way. And who doesn’t like a fun girl.
