Well, this holiday season isn’t as white as it should of been for video game publisher and developer EA, but besides all of its problems they processed to try an fulfill the needs of their Mirror’s Edge fans.

Yesterday, EA confirmed that Mirror’s Edge will be seeing a follow-up, but on the downside, it’s sad to see the company announcing this in the face of a disappointing holiday sales rate.

“While we saw significant improvement in the overall quality of our key products this year, we are disappointed that our holiday slate is not meeting our sales expectations,” said EA CEO John Riccitiello to GI.biz. “Given this performance and the uncertain economic environment, we are taking steps to reduce our cost structure and improve the profitability of our business.”

However, despite slow sales the warm critical reception afforded to Mirror’s Edge will ensure a sequel.

“Many times with a new intellectual property, the first edition doesn’t generate the units that subsequent editions could generate,” Riccitiello continued, “Mirror’s Edge is one that was very strongly reviewed, that one’s going to go forward. We’re probably going to look into some issues around the design to make sure strong IP is married with strong business.”

Today, Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto IV will really be headed toward the PC in North America and Europe this November the 18th and 21st. Grand Theft Auto IV was once rumored to be on the PC sometime back, but Rockstar didn’t comment on the rumor. This information was first made public when a PC mag cover which showcased Niko with a news title saying that Grand Theft Auto IV will be headed on to the PC.

“We are very excited to be releasing the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “The whole team is dedicated to bringing an amazing gaming experience to the PC. The game looks and plays beautifully on PC andwe can’t wait for people to play it.”

Due out in October for the Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3, Saints Row 2 continues to reveal it self to us through some new screenshots. Some of the screenshots are just as amazing as the trailer we saw sometime back, so we know that THQ is cooking up something good. The game even mocked Grand Theft Auto IV in a video, which compared the games to one another. You can view the images below:

That rights. Nintendo just revealed Grand Theft Auto for there DS called China Town Wars. There was no word on this game at this time we will keep you updated…….

When showing the financial results for the second quarter, Take Two Interactive announced that it’s hit game Grand Theft Auto IV has sold over 8.5 Million copes, with about 11 million distributed worldwide. Grand Theft Auto IV came out at the end of this pass May on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Microsoft Corp. today announced that the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system has sold over 10 million units in the U.S., making it the first current-generation gaming console to break the 10 million mark in the U.S. The U.S. install base contributes to global sales of over 19 million, more than any other current-generation console.

"This year will be the largest in the history of the video game industry, with Xbox 360 leading the charge in the U.S. and abroad," said Don Mattrick, senior vice president of the Interactive Entertainment Business in the Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft. "History has shown us that the first company to reach 10 million in console sales wins the generation battle. We are uniquely positioned to set a new benchmark for the industry."

This announcement comes on the heels of one of the biggest entertainment launches in history, "Grand Theft Auto IV," on April 29, 2008. Gamers eager to experience "Grand Theft Auto IV" online helped boost Xbox LIVE global membership to over 12 million this month. Fueled by an unparalleled combination of access to friends and family, the best online gaming features, and the best entertainment content, the Xbox LIVE service has doubled in membership in only one year’s time.

"What we’ve heard anecdotally from our retail partners is that the Xbox 360 version of the game is outselling the PS3 version by a margin of two-to-one," said Aaron Greenberg, director of product management for Xbox 360.

Microsoft’s two-to-one ratio "doesn’t line up" said SCEA rep, thats what Sony has been hearing from its retailers. The rep declined to say exactly what Sony has been hearing from its retail partners until more concrete data can be compiled.

In day-one sales in the UK, the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV outsold the PS3 version: 335,000 versus 274,000, respectively, according to the Chart Track.

And what Hollywood? "The reason why ticket sales are down is because of video games", my butt! According to the Box Office charts, Grand Theft Auto IV is not the only thing that is making the fans go crazy. Today, we got news that Iron Man has made over $100.8 Million in ticket sales, or in other words, alot of money. So maybe next time they should point fingers at the crappy movies for ticket sales going down.

While GTA IV has just landed and that players around the world are going crazy as they play this game. Mafia II, another representative of the genre, has illustrated with a new screenshot that Grand Theft Auto is not the only game of it kind. The screenshot is some what timid but, we can still get the point. The game will be releasing on the Xbox 360 and sony’s PlayStation 3 in the next year or so.

According to a Chart-Track estimate, Grand Theft Auto 4 has "eclipsed the record of 501,000 units set by GTA: San Andreas in 2004" with 609,000 units sold.

"GTA IV also set a record for first day sales Xbox 360 software, with 335,000 units. The prior record, set last September by Halo 3, was 266,000 units.

GTA IV easily eclipsed the first day PS3 sales record previously held by Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, which had day one sales of 80,000 last month. The PS3 version of GTA IV sold 274,000 units in the UK on day one."

After playing almost four hours of Grand Theft Auto it’s about time we give you our impressions about the game.

If you did not know, Grand theft Auto IV follows the story of Niko Bellic, a veteran of the Bosnian war, who has came to America to follow the America dream (the high life, woman, cars and big houses) and that just the beginning.

At first the game feels as if you have seen it all before but, after 30 min you jabber to yourself then you come to reality and tell yourself that this more then just a brand new game it’s an whole new Grand Theft Auto.

According to an employee at UPS, 3 of the workers were fired for stealing copys of Grand Theft Auto IV from there shipment boxes.

"I spoke to an employee of UPS over the weekend, and he told me that a surprising amount of workers were getting busted stealing the game from the shipment boxes. In one 24-hour period, three workers were fired, and more interviews were scheduled for today that would likely end in termination."

Excuse me as seeing that We just came out of my Grand Theft Auto IV haze that we all have been in for he last couple of day and today we have the guys at Konami to thank for this wonderful wake up call.
