Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods heading to US movie theaters this August

Good news Dragon Ball Z fans!

Even though it hit Japanese theaters over a year ago, FUNimation Entertainment and Screenvision. today announced that Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods will be hitting US movie theaters this August–screening in over 350 theaters across North America on August 5, August 6, August 7, and August 9.

“We’re very excited to be bringing Battle of Gods to movie theaters across the country this summer,” said FUNimation president Gen Fukunaga. “Dragon Ball Z has always been a huge part of everything we do at FUNimation and, speaking as a fan myself, I can’t wait to watch it on the big screen.”

Namco Bandai has announced that its secured exclusive North American rights to publish all future Dragon Ball titles “across all major consoles and handhelds” for the next five years, beginning in January 2010.

Along with this, Namco Bandai has secured the right to initially publish three Dragon Ball titles in 2009, Dragon Ball: Raging Blast for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo exclusively for Wii, and Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans exclusively for Nintendo DS.

“We are very excited to have signed this long term agreement with Toei Animation Co., Ltd and FUNimation Entertainment, which grants Namco Bandai Games North American multi-platform rights to the testosterone-driven, action-packed world of Dragon Ball,”said Makoto Iwai, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Namco Bandai Games America Inc..

“This move reunites Namco Bandai Games with the Dragon Ball series in North America which will considerably increase our ability to develop titles that perfectly capture every nuance of what makes the Dragon Ball world exciting to the consumer.”

New Dragon Ball Z RPG on DS

dbzds 204x300 New Dragon Ball Z RPG on DSNormally, Dragon Ball games have a generic fighting system and they do not seem to differ with their predecessors. But, that looks like if it’s all about to change on the DS, once again.

Following in the same steps as Dragon Ball: Origins, a Dragon Ball game for the DS (not Dragon Ball Z), Namco Bandai have revealed, in the pages of Shonen Jump, the return of Goku on to the DS.

Dragon Ball Z Story: Saiyajin Raishû, as it called in Japan, is a RPG which you meet all known heroes from the Dragon Ball Z seires – Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Krilin, and Yamcha.

Anyway, even if the scenario has not yet been official announced, we know however that it opens in a martial arts tournament. And judging by the artwork, first revealed by the Japanese magazine, it will be held during the first of the serie. Release scheduled is for next spring in Japan.

naruto ultimate ninja storm ps3 box No Trophies In Naruto: Ultimate Ninja StormIn a member Q&A over at the Hokage’s Room one of the members asked if there was going to be trophies in  Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, one of the devs for the game answered and said, “…we wont have the Trophy function in the game, but the in-game volume will for sure be a lot to do in place of it!”. The dev also so revealed that the downloadable content for the game “For the DLC, we’re planning on giving you exactly what you asked for; some of them are compelling missions and awesome support characters that you can freely unleash as you wish.”

The dev also hinted at a second game “…all I can say now is, enjoy STORM 1 and maybe, just maybe, we’ll give good news to our fans who is sure to get a blast from this game.”

ssj3goku Dragonball Z: Burst Limit PS3 On Top In Japan Japanese Software Charts have revealed that Dragonball Z: Burst Limit has sold 92,000 copy’s in Japan alone,  after making it’s international debut on June 5. Which in this case means that that game will be joining games like Yakuza 3 KENZAN! has an unexpected best seller in Japan.

Namco Bandai has released a new video gameplay for there upcoming game DragonBall Z: Burst Limit. There isn’t much i can’t tell you (other than the fact its the final fight between Goku vs Frieza), your just going to check out the video for yourself.

Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit is complete with online battles, 3D graphic, enhanced playable characters, realistic battle stages, and much more. The story takes place from beginning of the Saiyan Saga to the end of the Cell Saga. The video game based off the popular anime show Dragon Ball Z, the game is releasing for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

dbz%20goku%20ss2 DBZ: Burst Limit Demo Hits PSN at Midnight According to a thread posted by one of the Atari staff members, a demo for Dragonball Z: Burst Limit will be available over the PLAYSTATION Network at midnight. So “KAMEHAMEHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”.

The demo is up on XBL and PSN.

The demo is on XBL right now but, PlayStation 3 owners won’t be missing out on the action. A demo is coming to the PlayStation Network too. It may not have had a midnight launch like what was mentioned by a administration on the Atari Forums but, it’s in the pipeline.
