I know what you’re thinking; BioWare has done it again, announcing additional content before they release a game. However, hear me out, and you’ll actually like what I have to say. Anyway, BioWare today announced an in-game portal in which players will be updated through downloadable content and breaking news.

The Cerberus Network (as its called) is activated exclusively by original purchasers of Mass Effect 2 through a single-use unlock code that comes included in retail and digital versions of the game. However, for players who do not buy the game new, The Cerberus Network can be unlocked through a one-time, in-game purchase of a new activation code.

Players who access The Cerberus Network will receive the first DLC pack on January 26th (launch day in North America) featuring new missions and in-game items. Included in this pack is a mission that introduces Zaeed, a rugged and deadly gun-for-hire who is recruited to join Commander Shepard’s mission to save mankind.

Valkyria Chronicles has seem to have hit gold within the month of April with a huge sales jump from its predecessor month March, skyrocketing the game into best-seller lists, off of store shelves.

In the month of April alone, Valkyria Chronicles sales in North America increased by over 400% from, once again, March.

Half a year after a game is out, being able to say that sales doubled is a fantastic thing – that sales suddenly tripled is even more rare, said SEGA.

The burning hot sales can be attributed to community contests, DLC and the temporary price drop to $30.

That’s right. Sony has just announced the second DLC from Killzone 2 and, as they hinted all the way back at GDC, the second DLC pack for Killzone 2 will be a “retro” level pack.

The content pack will give you the ability to journey all the way back to the original Killzone by providing you two new levels that Guerrilla Games likes to call “Flash and Thunder” pack.

The two levels are odes to the Beach Head and Southern Hills levels from the first Killzone.  Both are fan favorites from the first game, but have been re-envisioned with Killzone 2‘s engine and overall technology.  The levels also offer a unique twist that will truly keep players on their toes, so watch out for an explosive gameplay element that will have you running for cover, or risk a quick death.

In the Beach Head map, the ISA must defend their stronghold after the Helghast land on the sandy Vektan beaches. As torrential rain and gale-force winds batter the landscape, the relatively small size of the level creates a frantic hand-to-hand battleground, with the water filled craters supplying only limited cover. Picking your way across the harsh terrain, you will find many opportunities to sneak up on the enemy and take them down at close range. And if you’re able to get to them in one piece, there are also lots of higher ground sniper spots to explore…
 
In the Southern Hills map, the battle takes place around a central Helghast base on top of a hill. The compound is surrounded by smaller structures, creating a level that facilitates close-quarter fights within the built-up areas, as well as long-range shoot-outs in-between them. Ideal for 24 to 32 player games, the base camps in this version have been beefed up considerably, so expect to find more hiding places than in the original Killzone counterpart.
 

We all knew that the content was going to release on April 30th, but we really weren’t sure as to how the price tag was going to look like. However, your wonders will now seems to disappear.

Today, the price tag was given for the newest content for Killzone 2 entitled ‘Steel & Titanium’ – the first of the DLC – at about $5.99, which will feature two maps; New Sun, which is on a ISA flagship; and Wasteland Bullet, which is on 2 Helghan trains running right next to one another with environmental gotchas.

In the shadow of the dating and pricing of the DLC, it now seems that Sega would like to continue the story of ‘Valkyria Chronicles’ in the form of a sequel.

In a report by PS3center, it was revealed in the latest issue of Famitsu Weekly, that the games producer Nonaka Ryutaro was ecstatic that Valkyria was embraced by the Japanese public in the way it was. He was also excited about the  anime’s debut, explaining that the anime served as another means to further develop the IP.

However, in light of the recent popularity, Ryutaro told the magazine that he really wanted to do a sequel to the game, and he was adamant about not leaving the game at just one title.

We were told that we were going to see this in the “upcoming weeks”, no pun intended, but we didn’t think that would be this soon.

Today, details were revealed for the upcoming Fable II DLC entitle “See the Future”. The content gives players the chance to heed the call for a hero to restore color and balance to the world, or let Albion fall. Those who emerge victorious will receive the ultimate reward: a quest that provides a vision of Albion’s future and what lies ahead for those born into the heroic bloodline. The new quests in “See the Future” will bring players face-to-face with new characters, creatures, events and legendary artifacts, like:

Murgo – a person that you meet in the childhood part of Fable II how returns to Bowerstone Market to bring an amazing array of new wares; The Ghosts of the Snowglobe Quest – Holding a disturbing secret, the small model village inside it was once a real town in Albion.; The Cursed Knight Quest – Forever banished to a land beyond the dead, the Cursed Knight awaits a hero who has the strength and will to dress up in convincing costumes, even imitating a hobbe or balverine, to save him from his fate; The Colosseum – The Colosseum puts even the Crucible to shame. Only the greatest heroes have triumphed here.

See the Future will offer free unique items including Welley’s soldier helmet, a braided ponytail, pshyco Jester make-up, a new hero expression, the back flip trick for the dog, a collectible Murgo the Trader statue and more. The new content looks set to release in May for 560 Microsoft Points.

Its been ten months since the release of Grand Theft Auto IV and it looks like its developers, Rockstar Games, are finally ready to put their latest work to the test in GTA IV: The Lost and Damned. But, this time we will not be taking on the role of Niko Bellic, the leading man in the Grand Theft Auto IV. You’ll be taking on the role of Johnny ‘The Jew’ Klebitz, the Vice President of The Lost (MC), which is one of the three known big Biker Gangs in the Liberty City.

Sadly, unlike some of Rockstar’s other characters, Johnny really isn’t one of those characters in where you’ll gain a strong bond with. Basically, the DLC is all about John and his gang. BOY his gang is just a group of jerks. REALLY. When we were playing through the title, we found out that Rockstar tried hard to match some of the events that happen in Grand Theft Auto IV that they just didn’t give you enough time to gain a bond with the characters in the DLC. Making the characters look like they do what they do just because they can. However, what they did manage to do right is the game’s presentation. Talk about the ability to keep busy. Not only did they add a hand full of weapons to the mix, but they also added an interesting new race type in were you use a bat to hit your opponent off their bike if they get too close. But, one thing they messed up on in the games presentation is the new grain filter. It really makes the city look ugly, but it really does fit the kind of story they were trying to tell. On the other hand, they did add in a new group of games to play and trust us when we say that it isn’t a waste of time.

Sadly, the character models in the title don’t have that ground breaking amazement like they did when GTA IV, when it was first released, but they are still very detailed. Once again, the grain filter isn’t something that I would want to play this game with, but you can’t do anything about it. This makes me mad because it makes the city look alot on the bad side. Also, the vehicles in the game have received an update and, boy, was it a great step for the developers to make. It makes everything fun and easy to control.

Another great part about the DLC is the added additional Tunes, Talk Shows and Television Shows which prove that this title is a ‘BIG Bang’ for your 20 bucks. The Stations are freaking awesome! I even spent about ten minutes just sitting there in my vehicle tuned into ‘The Beat 102.7′ checking to see what was the update with Busta Rhymes’ ‘If your car ain’t right, homie you ain’t right’. Also, there are new Television Shows. It’s just that they aren’t that entertaining, but it’s there if you want to watch it.

The multi-player is still there with added content like weapons and vehicles. But, I don’t know what it is, when you get into a good match with willing players, you’ll have one of the best mutli-player experience there is. However, one thing I wished that they had updated was the cover system. Just like the single player, you can be easy pickings when you don’t attach to the right cover spot in the right way.

Closing Statement:

The Lost and Damned will go down, in at least our book, as one of the greatest download contents ever made because it has all the things that great DLCs are made of: great content and great acting all around. And for 20 dollars it’s one of the best items you can find on Xbox Live Marketplace, which is saying alot. There’s only one thing I wished they did and that is adding the ability for you to go back and play Grand Theft Auto IV instead of you having to re-download it every time you play Grand Theft Auto IV. Also, they should have given the player a little more back story into the members of ‘The Lost’.

There have been many rumors that Fable II will be making it’s way onto the PC, but it’s publisher, Microsoft, hasn’t commented on the possibility.  However, the game’s developer thinks that it is ‘imminent’.

According to WhatIfGaming, Lionhead Studios thinks that Fable II could be coming onto the PC sometime in the near future.

“Fable II has been an enormous success on the Xbox 360. A Fable II for PC users would be likely imminent. Keep checking back with us for more updates,” said a Lionhead rep.

Now, don’t jump the gun. But, still it’s great to see that the developer still has hope about the whole it ‘being on PC’ thing.

Guess what? It’s what you’ve been waiting for. Jimi Hendrix will now have downloadable content for Guitar Hero: World Tour. After announcing the news before the games release, the rock legend will now have a set of three songs coming out on November 13th. To be more specific the DLC will contain the songs If 6 was 9, Little Wing, and a live version of fire. The content will be available for 440 Microsoft points on Xbox Live Marketplace and $5.49 on the PlayStation Store. If music fans can not afford the DLC, the following week on November 20th. There will be another trio of songs by the band called “The Raconteurs”. The songs Salute your Solution, Hold Up, and Console of the lonely. These three songs can be purchased separately on XBL for 160 MP each, $1.99 each on the PSN also on the Wii Store for 200 Wii points each, the game is now out on all three next gen consoles.

Capcom has now announced that downloadable content will be hitting this Tuesday with not even a week since its debut of the game, Mega Man 9, on the marketplace. This is a much needed DLC that set’s the game higher above the rest in the franchise. Set to be unveiled with this download, the game will interlude a new playable chacter named Proto Man and will add a mode called Endless Attack. While prices have not been announced it’s most likely that the DLC may go for the price of $2.00-$3.00 dollars to reflect the price on Nintendo’s WiiWare service. If you would like more information you’ll just have to wait a little bit longer because the rest of the expected DLC will make its way in the upcoming week of October 20th.

While it’s still to early to point the figure and say that there’s going to be a sequel to Pure right of the back. We have learned today that video game director Jason Avent is putting into consideration a Pure sequel with DLC for their newly released title, Pure in the future. Today, when talking to Videogaming247, Black Rock director Jason Avent told them that the studio hopes to extend Pure into another game, and that DLC for the first title maybe well on the way. “I hope so,” he said when asked if a sequel was in the question, “We have loads of ideas and bits of unfinished business.”

The Playstation Blog revealed that the all powerful god of war, Kratos, will pack his bags to play some golf on the 21th of this month in the form of a downloadable character for Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds. As you may already know this is a much needed break for Kratos because battling the gods really does take a toll on such a character  to take a break he will head to the grounds to sink putts while using is clubs of chaos for massive chaos on the grounds.

The DLC will going for a not so bad price of $2.00 which comes with some new voice overs, we don’t really expect him to go wild with this download seeing that he is on a break and we should respect his vacation time as he focus on a little “E” for all time.

After putting the pack SSC Challenge on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last month, Electronic Arts continues to fuel Army of Two with a new Map Pack. The DLC will include two new campaigns modes, the first send Salem and Rios in a subway station where they must put an end to the activities of a mafia group, while the second puts players in the headquarters of the SSC Miami, where you are tasked with the job of dispatching Dalton.

Unscripted 360 spoke with EA Montreal earlier this week and told them that fans should expect new campaign maps for Army of Two very soon. They also where told that the demo will be coming at a good price, FREE. There wasn’t many other details giving about the games DLC so just keep an eye out for more information.

Mistwalker has announced the date for the next set of downloadable content for the Japanese version of Lost Odyssey. The DLC is set for availability on April 10, the 89 megabyte download will give players access to a new dungeon.

The new dungeon takes place in the remains of an underground test facility and involves Kaim and his buddies mortal and immortal seeking out the nature of the top secret research that had been going on there. Those who explore this dungeon, who’s entrance requires a trip under the sea, will find a new boss character and some rare accessories. This third piece of download content for the RPG epic will run players 400 Microsoft Points.

Today, Eidos announced that starting on April 17, 2008 gamers will be able to download four new multiplayer maps Kane & Lynch. You can download the DLC for the price of zero dollars, or free.

"Eidos will be announcing on Tuesday April 8, the upcoming release of four new downloadable maps for the Fragile Alliance multiplayer mode in Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. The maps will be downloadable for FREE on April 17, from Xbox LIVE and from the PLAYSTATION Network for the PS3. The new maps will be released in one downloadable pack entitled ‘The Dope Bag’, with each of the four maps featuring its own unique scenario."

Great news Army of Two Fanboys, EA has revealed the downloadable content for Army Of Two plus they also revealed the details for the upcoming demo for the game. According to a post on the EA forums Matt Turner, Assistant Producer of Army of Two, revealed some new details for the demo and the DLC for the game. In the post it states that the demo will be coming out on April 1st. Here’s what he had to say about the DLC:

“……. So there is 1 new multiplayer map arriving as well as 2 new campaign maps in the not too distant future. As well as SSC Challenge- that’s the obstacle course for mercs that I mentioned in my previous post…..”
