The plot behind Inception didn’t guarantee success. However, because of a star-studded cast, an acclaimed director and mind blowing visuals, the movie became a box-office smash.

That said, at the Inception Rome premier event, director Christopher Nolan said that they’ve been planning for a video game adaption of the movie. “We are looking at doing is developing a video game based on the world of the film, which has all kinds of ideas that you can’t fit into a feature film,” said Nolan.

No developer or publisher was mentioned. However, Nolan talks about the game as a “long term” project; meaning it won’t be happening anytime soon. “That’s something we’ve been talking about and are looking at doing [in the] long term, in a couple of years,” he continued.

According to member on the IGN Boards, he was watching G4 The Dark Knight preview with Kristin Holt interviewing Gary Oldman, who plays Jim Gordon in the movie. In the preview Gary Oldman told Kristin with loose lips that there really is “a Dark Knight Game in the works.” In the preview he joked about a “small scene in the game about his character on a roof top all alone while Batman jumped off the building and opened his wings to fly away to save the day.” He also talked about how it will look when Batman glides in the game. The game is set to be released around the same time as the DVD, near the end of this year.

The official new poster for The Dark Knight has been uncovered thanks to one for our featured readers. Now we don’t normally talk about movies that don’t relate to gaming but, this is just on movie that we couldn’t pass up. The poster was found on a viral marketing website called WhySoSerious.com. The movie is set from a release in July.
