Andare all’Inferno. Translation: Go to Hell! In the newest trailers for the highly anticipated title, Dante’s Inferno, it showcases Dante’s wicked-fast moves as he slashes and slaughters, massacres and mangles the devil’s demons through Hell’s nine circles. Equipped with Death’s Scythe, Dante must save his love Beatrice, and in so doing, facing his own demons.

Early access to the demo was just the begging, Visceral Games have announced the Divine Edition of Dante’s Inferno, an exclusive version of Dante’s Inferno for the PlayStation 3. And to make it all better, the Divine Edition comes jam packed with extra content for no additional cost.

When the game releases on February 9th, PlayStation 3 owners will be able to purchase the Divine Edition which includes developer commentaries, a Wayne Barlowe digital art book, the soundtrack to the game and a digital version of the complete Longfellow translation of Dante Alighieri’s Inferno all for the price of $59.99. Mean while, 360 owners will be stuck with the normal and special editions of the game.

“We are thrilled to offer an exclusive game pack for PlayStation 3 gamers. The PlayStation platform has a long history of delivering AAA action/adventure games,” said Jonathan Knight, Executive Producer for Dante’s Inferno. “Adding Dante’s Inferno to that rich catalog is very exciting for the team. Almost nothing has been said about the production of the Gears of War movie; everything said about the movie, so far, is either speculation or PR “contribution”. That said, the Gear of War movie producer, Wyck Godfrey recently sat down to discuss the challenges of translating the popular video game series into a movie.

Revealing that he didn’t take kindly to the already to explored environment within the Gears of War video games, Godfrey told Making Of that the Gears of War movie will center around the events of “Emergence Day”, 14 years before the original Gears of War – “Emergence Day” wasn’t explored fully within the video games’ storyline.

“The hard part is to make [Gears of War] into something that doesn’t feel like a world torn asunder and people just in battle,” Godfrey tells Making Of. “I think we really want to focus on the idea of a world that’s running well and then it’s Emergence Day.”

A month before the release of God of War III, players will have the chance to enter the “gates of hell” with Dante’s Inferno, the video game adaptation of Dante Alighieri’s epic poem, The Divine Comedy. However, the public awareness of Dante’s Inferno is…  a little slim. That said, Electronic Arts has announced a public sample for Dante’s Inferno in the form of a demo; in which they plan to release in December.

Entitled the “Gates of Hell” demo, the demo allows players to “experience fast-paced hack-n-slash combat as they fend off waves of enemies before taking on the ultimate battle against Death.” Upon the defeat of Death, Dante will be armed with Death’s scythe and a powerful holy cross. Then, he tears open the Gates of Hell – thus the name.

“Our main goal from the start of this project has been to create a journey that will make gamers truly feel like they are going through hell,” said executive producer Jonathan Knight. “The demo will give everyone some insight into how we are treating the story and a taste of the gameplay. And with nine more circles of hell to explore once the game comes out in February, we are literally just scratching the surface.”

Dante’s Inferno is slated to launch in North America for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PSP on February 9, 2010. However, the demo will only be available for the PS3 and 360.

With the impending release in a couple of months, BioWare have announced the collectors’ edition for their upcoming futuristic space adventure, Mass Effect 2.

Available on January 26 in North America alongside the standard edition, the Collectors’ Edition of Mass Effect 2 comes in a premium, tin case and includes the full version of the game, a 48-page hardcover “Art of Mass Effect 2” book, Issue 1 of the Mass Effect Redemption comic book, and a bonus DVD with behind-the-scenes and making-of videos.

In addition, the Mass Effect 2 Collectors’ Edition will include unique in-game weapons and armor that can only be obtained by purchasing this version.

“We’re really excited to roll out this Collectors’ Edition featuring so many unique items, including special Collectors’ Edition armor and weapons and content that will surprise Mass Effect fans,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder of BioWare. “The limited edition comic book and bonus DVD will really enhance and expand the overall Mass Effect 2 experience.”

When it comes to video game stories, nothing can even come close to that of the God of War franchise; with its well written and intelligent story. However, many may argue that, story-wise, the franchise has explored everything within the world of Greek mythology leaving nothing for God of War III.

When being interview by GamePro, God of War III’s Director Stig Asmussen reassured fans that they’ve still have plenty to explore within the world of Greek mythology. “When we first started, we didn’t really set out to limit ourselves to Greek mythology or simply the story of Greek mythology. That’s why we created Kratos to build our own story around that. We didn’t want to just hold true to everything and to be too really realistic,” he told the magazine.

“We wanted to be able to visually and conceptually do anything we wanted. If we wanted to make a prison level, we made a prison level. If we wanted hostages in a ship, we can do that. We just have to put the Greek column on and some Greek trim in there so it kind of looks Greek, but beyond that, we can go anywhere we want.” God of War III releases in March 2010.

Today we’d like to offer you a glimpse into this world of despair with a trio of new screenshots from the Sony PSP version of EA and Visceral Games’ gruesome action-adventure, Dante’s Inferno. However, be warned; there’s are somethings better not seen.

Naughty Dog released the first episode of Uncharted: Eye of Indra, the motion comic series following the early adventures of Nathan Drake – the main protagonist for Uncharted series – before the events of Drake Fortune, on PlayStation Store.

“We actually started [Among Thieves] game with an idea for a prequel story that we eventually cut,” said Lead Designer Neil Druckmann, when announcing Eye of Indra. “However, you’ll get to see that story fleshed out in the upcoming Uncharted Motion Comic.” Eye of Indra is a four-part motion comic series that’s available exclusively on the PlayStation Store for the price of “free”.

Four years ago, co-founder Ray Muzyka revealed that “[BioWare] definitely [has] plans to continue the Jade Empire franchise” – teasing the possibility of a Xbox 360 sequel. However, since then, the heat over Muzyka’s comments have since been turned into smoke.

When speaking to Strategy Informer, Dragon Age‘s lead designer Mike Laidlaw stomped on whether, or not, a follow-up was in development. “At this point, Jade Empire is a staff favorite, and a lot of us love it, so we’d love to revisit it at some point. But right now, we are very focused on Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2,” Laidlaw stated.

On another note, BioWare’s official site reveals that it currently has one unidentified “new next gen game” in development which hasn’t been announced yet.

First things first, Sucker Punch hasn’t announced that they’re developing another inFamous title. However, according to voice actor David Sullivan, he’s auditioning for the re-casting for Cole for the inFamous sequel. “Re-casting” in the sense of Sullivan replacing Jason Cottle, who originally played as Cole in the first game.

“First voiceover/motion capture audition today for a video game,” said actor David Sullivan over Twitter this morning. “Re-casting of Cole in the sequel of inFamous. ‘I’ll melt your face.’ e.g” However, back to the fact at hand, according Cottle’s IMDB profile, it reveals that Cottle’s currently not working on anything. Leaving one to wonder what’s going on with Cottle’s placement as Cole (maybe it has something to do with money?).

Anyway, Sullivan is best known for his role in 2004′s independent time-traveling film Primer, and according to actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who voiced Moya in the first game, “[Sullivan] would be AWESOME as ‘Cole’!”

You ever wonder how Ezio looks like as a man? Well, in the latest Assassin’s Creed II trailer from the Tokyo Game Show it features Ezio as a man, not as a assassin.

In Assassin’s Creed II, Ezio Auditore da Firenze is a young Italian noble who will learn the ways of the assassins after his family was betrayed and he looks to seek vengeance. He is a lady’s man, a free soul with panache yet has a very human side to his personality. Through him, you become a master assassin.

Besides recent reports, it seems that unannounced Final Fantasy project is alive and well. According to a report posted by GameIndustry.biz, sources confirmed that the unannounced Final Fantasy project that was in development at GRIN is now in development over at Square Enix.

You see, Square took the project off GRIN’s hands after only six months of development due to concerns over quality. Sadly, because business laws in Sweden prohibits companies from going into debt without severe penalties, GRIN was subsequently to bear its wage burden without new projects, and had to closed its doors. Square didn’t respond to the news.

Rockstar has revealed that Lazlow, the lovable talk show host, will be making a return in the latest expansion of Grand Theft Auto IV, The Ballad of Gay Tony, with new content. Lazlow is the host of radio station Integrity 2.0 in Grand Theft Auto IV, and also had some new content in The Lost and Damned. That’s all we know so far.

During the Final Fantasy XIII premiere party, Square Enix announced the Japanese release date for Final Fantasy XIII, which is this December the 17th. However, we’re located  in America, and we want to know when we’ll be able to get our hands on the game. So here’s the question Square, what’s Final Fantasy XIII’s North American release date?

Answering the question, Yoichi Wada, president and CEO of Square Enix, told the press that they’re aiming for an “international release [next] spring”. But, seeing that he said “international”, not American. This gives hope to the Europeans that they may actually see the game at the same time as Americans, which is a very good thing. Once again, the game has been confirmed for a December 17th release in Japan and goes on sale at about ¥9240.

Gee willikers Batman! Today, the highly anticipated, Batman: Arkham Asylum, was awarded a Guinness World Record for the “Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever”. Arkham Asylum broken Guinness World Record in this category by achieving the highest average score of 91.67 from reviews, and reviewers, around the world.

When awarding the development team over at Rocksteady Studios, Gaz Deaves from Guinness World Records states that, “[They] are so pleased to be awarding Batman: Arkham Asylum a Guinness World Record. It is a fantastic new game and due to the reaction of gaming experts we believe it has a well deserved place in the Guinness World Records book.”

Coinciding with the launch of the hotly-anticipated and highly-reviewed Batman: Arkham Asylum, retailers across the country will begin letting gamers into Arkham Asylum, and this trailer will definitely help to captivate your readers’ interest as they delve into the madhouse themselves!

We have some bads news. Director Gore Verbinski has stepped down from directing the BioShock movie for a possible forth installment into the Pirates of the Carribbean movie series, which isn’t all bad news because Pirates of the Carribbean is awesome, and it looks like Juan Carlos Fresnadillo has stepped in as director – SlashFilm reports.

Verbinski will remain involved in the project, but only as producer. However, as we reported back in April, Universal has shut down production of the movie because of the film’s ballooning budget that continues to grow. Also for some reworking of the script, and to explore possible locations outside the country offering financial incentives.

With a pool of talented name brand filmmakers hoping to helm such a project (Guillermo del Toro has been outspoken), its amazing that Universal went with Fresnadillo in the end, who’s best known as the writer/director of 28 Weeks Later.

In all the recent videos, not including the ones at E3, Final Fantasy XIII has been featured with it’s translated English dialog. However, we can now confirm that, that should no longer be an issue. Because Square Enix has revealed that they have completed the remainder of all the English dialog for Final Fantasy XIII.

“Sweet! English VO for FFXIII is complete,” stated Square Enix’s Klee Kuo twitter feed.

During the company’s panel at the San Diego Comic Con, Top Cow, an American comic book publisher, confirmed that the sequel to The Darkness is indeed under development.

However, the game isn’t being developed by 2K Games. VG247 got confirmation from Starbreeze CEO Johan Kristianssn saying the developer isn’t involved this time around. ”I heard that there were talks about a Darkness sequel, but Starbreeze is not involved in anything like that right now. We are busy on two projects together with EA,” Kristiansson said.

No other information was revealed on the development of the sequel.

In the new Villains Trailer, Eidos Inc. and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment showcase Batman’s most ferocious and infamous fiends, who have trapped Batman inside the dark and dangerous confines of Gotham City’s asylum for the mentally insane –Arkham Asylum!

During the latest episode of GameTrailers TV, Geoff Keighley and the team at Visceral Games revealed the first ever gameplay trailer for their upcoming title Dante’s Inferno. Now, enough talking about it, it’s time to show.

With the new Inside The Asylum behind the scenes video, Eidos Inc. and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment go deep within the walls of Arkham Asylum to showcase Batman’s most notorious enemies as well as the creators of the Batman: Arkham Asylum videogame.

The all new video features insightful interviews with Game Director Sefton Hill and Lead Narrative Designer Paul Crocker from Rocksteady Studios as well as famed Batman: The Animated Series and Batman: Arkham Asylum writer, Paul Dini.

The sequel to the film adaptation of Hitman is in production, according to a new report by movie site IESB.

Writer Kyle Ward, also attached to the Kane & Lynch adaptation, is handling the script for Hitman 2. Producers Adrian Askarieh, Daniel Alter and Chuck Gordon will return to work on the project.

The original Hitman movie, released in 2007, starred Deadwood veteran Timothy Olyphant in the role as Agent 45 himself. Despite dismal reviews, the film eventually raked in $99.9 million at the box office.

Movie based games normally aren’t as good as they appear, but when a developer gets that movie and game combination just right, they can amaze everyone with their final product. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is just that kind of game, but instead of some hand-me-down PG-13 character, you get a Wolverine that stays true to Wolverine. Because of this, “the kiddies” can’t take on this role of Wolverine – thanks to some very brutal decapitations – but that just sucks for them.

Following events from the film, the game tosses you in into the tattered white tank top of Weapon X in a setting all too familiar from the movie. However, X-Men Origins adds a lot of back story into it. The game centers around the time when Logan was running with his commanding officer Stryker and Sabertooth doing animalistic missions within Africa. But that isn’t all, the title also follows Lugan’s turn from the group for a better life – but we all know how that turns out. So now, he’s on a one man mission of revenge. However, for some reason, the game finds away to pop in and out of these timelines, which sometimes can get a bit tedious.

Luckily, this game isn’t much about story; it’s mostly about hacking ‘n’ slashing your way though waves and waves of enemies. Thanks to some quick reaction, combat provides enough variety in its moves to keep things up to speed and interesting, while the ability to unlock special moves and upgrade them with points earned by experience offers an rewarding sense of progress. But without some of these controls such as the game’s lunges, blocks, rolls, and special moves – handled by shoulder buttons and triggers – the controls feel sufficiently different to most other hack ‘n’ slash titles. And once you get the hang of things, you’ll soon find yourself a pro.

Another thing that’s interesting about X-Men Origins is the new health system they have finally given to Wolverine. Like before there is a heath bar, but you won’t need it because Wolverine has the ability to heal in-game. When bullets fly into Wolverine, the holes appear in his chest and they begin to bleed out. Along this, you can also see the shirt being torn off of Logan back as enemy bullets and explosions hit him.

When playing thought this game, I found that there there hasn’t been much work on the characters within the design department. There are three character types that aren’t bosses, and depending on which mission you are on, there are different character skins you will be able to fight. Don’t get me wrong, there are many special moves and attacks that you can utilise, but you can only do something for so long before you get bored of it. This is want happens with X-Men Origins. Sure, adding new character skins in the mix is a nice aspect, but there’s aren’t that many of them to keep things fresh.

Closing Statement:

There’s only so much you can ask from a movie game, but lucky, X-Men Origins is able to capture them all well. When I was playing though this game I was surprised by all the things they’ve added to give the game replay valve. I played though this game twice: the first to beat it, and the second to find all the extra collectables and ablites. There have been very few movie games that people can consider good, however I’m happy to tell you that X-Men Origins: Wolverine happens to be one of these games.

We recently had the chance to speak with Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt, known for their healthy career in the gaming industry, about their latest venture together “Tumbling After”.

GCO: For those that aren’t up to date with what you have done in the past, can you guys list some of your past works – both within the video gaming industry and on-screen?

Sure, Yuri might be best known for his work in video-games like The Prince of Persia series (as the Prince) in Sands of Time and Two Thrones. He also recently worked on Afro Samurai (Jinno/Kuma) – both the video games and series – opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Lucy Liu and Ron Perlman. He’s been in countless other game titles from .Hack// (Haseo), Saints Row, Persona 3 & 4 to Final Fantasy, as well as anime series Naruto (Sasuke), Gurren Lagaan (Simon) and more. He also does a lot of original animation work, having starred in Legion of Superheroes (Superman & Superman X), Ben Ten: Alien Force (Ben), Wolverine & The X-Men (IceMan) in addition to on-camera jobs. Most recently on TV he had a recurring role on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Christopher Garvin) as well as recurring on The Gilmore Girls (Carl).

And Tara is no stranger to video games, animation and television as well. In video games, some of Tara ‘s credits include Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (Red Queen), DC vs. MK (Wonder Woman), Persona 3 (Mitsuru) and Soulcalibur (Setsuka). In anime, she’s also on Naruto (Temari), Blue Dragon (Cynthia) and Buso Renkin (Tokiko). Tara also worked on Legion of Superheroes (DreamGirl). On-screen in film and TV she’s appeared in Gilmore Girls (Shelly), Charmed (Muse), recurring on Attack of the Show (Baronness & Spoiler Whore) as well as several indie films: Death’s Door, Time & Tide and Tumbling After, the feature film that we wrote, produced and completed this year under our production company Monkey Kingdom Productions. Clearly we don’t like to sit still…:)

GCO: How did you guys use your experiences with your recent venture “Tumbling After”?

Well, I think simply being in the entertainment industry as long as we have definitely helped us as we worked on Tumbling. It was its own unique process, which I don’t know that anyone could have been totally prepared for given the circumstances. And there were certainly moments when things got hairy, that we had to say, “This is just the way it’s gonna go!” and not take it personally or get bummed out, or we wouldn’t have finished the film at all. Yuri jokes that making Tumbling was our equivalent to going to film school; we had to learn on the spot and make things happen however we could just to get through the day.

We certainly called a few favors from people we know in all areas of the business. At every step of the process. It’s really the way things get done here, we’ve found. First it was calls to see if people could jump in as cast/crew, then it was to see if they could help in post-production. Those friend-favors are invaluable and we owe the caliber of the film in great part to the hard work and efforts of those people…which we couldn’t have accessed without having laid the groundwork in our personal careers up to that point. It’s such a huge undertaking, making a movie, that there’s a lot of trust involved, from start to finish, which is kind of funny, because trust is a major theme in the film.

GCO: When you hear the name “Tumbling After” you hear the ringing of the popular children song “Jack and Jill went up the hill”, was that you inspiration for the name of the movie? If yes, why?

Great! Then it’s working. Although the film is a psychological thriller, we like the eerie feel you get when you juxtapose children’s rhymes with scary ideas and images. Most of those fairy tales are pretty scary when you get right down to it, anyway. The main characters are named Jack and Jill for that reason, so that you are following the ‘tumbling after’ that befalls them. In fact, our tagline for the film is “Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water, Jack fell down and broke his crown and then began the slaughter…”

It’s funny really, since when we started filming we thought we might name the characters Jack and Diane, like the John Cougar Mellencamp song but fate stepped in and we ended up changing Diane to Jill just before shooting. And it all lined up perfectly. We couldn’t have planned it any better, really, since the character of Jack starts the film having just had a mental breakdown (he broke his crown) which sets all the events in motion (slaughter, you ask? Well, you’ll just have to watch and see.). So, yay! We’re glad that those images were conjured when you heard the name. Success!

GCO: Monkey Kingdom Productions. This has to be one of the most unique names I have heard in a long time, how did you guys come up with it? What’s the reason behind the name?

Why thank you! It actually stems from Asian myth and legend, by which we are both intrigued and inspired. In Eastern mythology, there is a Monkey King god. The Monkey King is a trickster god, always playing pranks on the bigger more powerful gods. We liked this image of the clever underdog, especially in the studio-powerful entertainment industry. So, we took that idea and our love of teamwork or a ‘kingdom’ of people, since in this business a successful project is never the work of a single person, and we created Monkey Kingdom Productions. ‘Cause when you’re having fun, its not really working, right? And if we don’t take ourselves too seriously and allow ourselves to play, then we’re just monkey-ing around. As we like to say, “C’mon monkey, let’s make a movie!”

Currently we’re shopping Tumbling After to several distributors and we are also in production and filming our next feature film, a documentary about the world of comic/cartoon/anime/video game conventions from the perspective of actors who travel there, since we live that firsthand. We are also co-authoring a book on voice-over due out this fall entitled Voice-Over Voice-Actor: What It’s Like Behind the Mic, so keep your eyes out for that. Like we said earlier, we’re always on the move!

In an interview with Joystiq, Rocksteady’s lead narrative designer Paul Crocker confirmed that Batman: Arkham Asylum will be a single-player experience only.

“No. Like I say, we’re just focusing on being Batman,” said Paul Crocker. “We could have spent less time on that, and more time on adding stuff in, but really the game is successful because you feel like you’re Batman.”

In Batman: Arkham Asylum, developed by Rocksteady Studios, the player assumes the role of Batman as he delivers The Joker to Arkham Asylum. There, the imprisoned super-villains have set a trap and an immersive combat gaming experience unfolds. With an original script penned by Emmy Award-winning Batman writer Paul Dini, the game brings the universe of DC Comics’ detective to life with stunning graphics.

Anyway, the game is being developed by new company called 4mm Games –  made up of former Rockstar execs/talent - via a partnership with Def Jam Interactive and it’s entitled Def Jam Rapstar.

4mm Games and Def Jam Interactive have a great story to share in terms of their unique partnership and more importantly their vision for Def Jam Rapstar to foster an interactive environment that speaks to the popular urban and hip hop communities which span a wide range of demographics. Wait, that’s casual talk!

The partnership and upcoming portfolio of titles, starting with Def Jam Rapstar, stems from both companies desire to create authentic, and culturally relevant urban-rooted entertainment across multiple genres/platforms. More info will be revealed at this years E3.

Last we heard, Universal decided to put the movie on hold because they were trying to explore different ways to cut down on the films budget.

However, in an update on his Twitter account, Wentworth Miller had this to say, “Prison Break may be ending, but I’ve got things in the works. Hint…one word: Bioshock.”

Miller could have meant that he’ll now have time to play Bioshock, but, somehow, I doubt that. Or maybe Miller has a voice part in the upcoming Bioshock sequel, Bioshock 2?

But, then again, since its announcement in August, Hollywood has eyeing a big screen adaptation of this popular first-person shooter. So, it could mean that he has scored a roll in the big screen adaptation of Bioshock, but for now it still a rumor, we’ll keep you posted.

Sam Fisher can’t remain hidden any longer and the time has come for UbiSoft to show us (absolutely nothing of) Splinter Cell: Conviction via one if their “teaser trailers”.

Anyway, there isn’t much point in going into detail about the teaser trailer because there aren’t any, but you do get to hear Sam Fisher talking about the situation he’s landed in Jack Bauer style. However, according the teaser site, you’ll have to wait until the 20th of May, and 28th May for more details and, properly, another trailer.

The machines have yet to take over, but that won’t stop the media barrage of Terminator Salvation from continuing it’s onslaught.  Here’s the latest trailer profiling the terrestrial-based mechanized baddies.

“Terminator Salvation is a third person shooter where the player needs to “constantly move, flank, cover and utilize their squad to progress.” The player must battle Skynet enemies from the upcoming film as well as new enemies specifically designed for the game.

The game features a campaign that can be played alone or cooperatively with one other local player via split-screen.”

We all know that John Connor has to save us from the “rise of the machines”, but, sadly, he can’t do it all by himself.  That’s why the President at Halcyon Games, Cos Lazouras, gave us a look at the upcoming Terminator: Salvation video game.

Terminator: Salvation launches May 19 on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 right before the feature film hits theaters on the 21st.

In the shadow of the dating and pricing of the DLC, it now seems that Sega would like to continue the story of ‘Valkyria Chronicles’ in the form of a sequel.

In a report by PS3center, it was revealed in the latest issue of Famitsu Weekly, that the games producer Nonaka Ryutaro was ecstatic that Valkyria was embraced by the Japanese public in the way it was. He was also excited about the  anime’s debut, explaining that the anime served as another means to further develop the IP.

However, in light of the recent popularity, Ryutaro told the magazine that he really wanted to do a sequel to the game, and he was adamant about not leaving the game at just one title.

In last weeks episode of Invisible Walls, they covered all the big announcements at the Game Developers Conference.

And in the episode, which is by the way was their 51 episode, they covered one of the biggest games at the show, Punch-Out!. Within their discussion it was revealed that there were only 13 characters within the title and somewhere within their discussion the word “DLC” poped up.

However, according to one of the cast members, when asking a rep from Nintendo about them bring in more character via Downloadable Content they were told that they weren’t going to do DLC for the title.

As we were told many times before, Batman: Arkham Asylum will feature many other characters from within the Batmen universe, and one of those characters within that universe is The Joker’s main sweetie, Harley Quinn.

A scan from a magazine has revealed has revealed, what looks like, a picture of Arkham Asylum’s version Harley Quinn, and man is she hot. But, design wise, they’ve been sticking closer to the dark and grittier comic styles for the Dark Knight and his foes.

“Batman: Arkham Asylum offers players the chance to battle Gotham’s worst villains with Batman’s physical and psychological strength in a graphically distinct and story-driven game,” said Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

“We look forward to working with Eidos on expanding DC Comics’ world-renowned character Batman in the game space with a noticeably different feature set in an incredibly dark interactive environment.”

Back when the DVD and Blu-ray versions of Wanted was released, Universal Studios implanted on to the discs 10 secret codes, which are hidden among the menu screen and/or bonus features, that unlock new portions of the game.

The codes will give you the ability to open up a new character, access enhanced weaponry and exclusive game modes, etc.. But, it also back into the DVD/Blu-ray movies. When an embedded code in the game is entered into the movie disc’s menu screen, a special featurette starring Wanted lead James McAvoy will be revealed.

Universal did not aggressively promote this game-movie cross-over when Wanted bowed on DVD and Blu-ray last year because the game, initially planned to release at the same time as the DVD, was delayed until March.

“Universal saw an exclusive opportunity to creatively intensify Wanted fans’ entertainment experience by crafting a code program that essentially is designed to drive film and game enthusiasts from the Blu-ray and DVD releases to the game and back,” said Hilary Hoffman, the studio’s senior VP of brand and digital marketing.“By bridging these two platforms, we effectively extend the marketing window for the film’s DVD and Blu-ray releases, substantially enhance game play and enable fans to unlock even more bonus content for one of their favorite films.”

Ignition Entertainment has confirmed that King of Fighters XII will be coming to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 this Summer. The game has had its up and downs as of lately with one of the longest development cycles for any series title to date, but that is okay. Only if we can get a great game at the end.

But, with time we’ll be able to see how the game has been rebuild from the ground up – with an all new engine and a in-depth improved character sprites. Speaking of, you can view the trailer here.

Well, I never though that I would be saying this about this game, but wow… just by the title, of the story, it sounds good. I know, I know. It does sound like if it’s going to have some very garbage zero-gravity sections, but with a combination like God of War and Dead Space it makes me want to jump for joy.

In the latest issue of PSM3, dev EA Redwood Shores revealed the first details of there upcoming title, Dante’s Inferno, which is ‘God of War meets Dead Space.’

“What really sets this apart from God of War is the setting. Dante’s trip through hell is altogether more unpleasant, twisted creatures burst from doorways, lava spews from inverted crosses and bottomless fiery pits yawn deep beneath your feet.”

Dante’s Inferno is a third person action game that tells the tale of Dante and his journey through the twisted, menace nine circles of hell in pursuit of his beloved Beatrice.

A YouTube video has hit the web proclaiming that it’s the Dead Rising 2 trailer and guys close to Capcom have confirmed that is this the real deal.

I had a chance to contact a rep from Capcom and nothing can be ‘officially said’ because they cannot confirmed anything just yet. But, from this video we can find out some  information about Dead Rising 2.

The video has a reference to a drug that turns out ‘to almost be complete effective’ against the outbreak. Anyway, the video then moves to a casino it shows Isabella Keyes from the first game pushing a giant hamster ball, which they say is a new weapon from in the game.

However, if the video is true, it appears to confirm that Dead Rising 2 will be set in Las Vegas because of the casino parts of the trailer, but as of now, one can only wait and see.

What villain comes to your mind when you think about Batman? Regularly people pick the The Joker because they can’t forget his smile and the brains behind his coning . But, what happens when Batman catches The Joker, and his plan was to be caught by Batman? Well, my friend, that were this story begins.

The other day we had the chance to view, what is the first, true plot twists in Batman: Arkham Asylum in the form of a trailer, so we have decided that to do our impressions on the trailer, but was it really what we hoped for?

At the beginning of the trailer, we got to test what was the first test of voice acting in Arkham Asylum, a woman on a helicopter radio informing someone that ‘The Joker has been detained and that Batman was on his way to Asylum’, which is the mad house for all the baddies of Gotham.

After that, the trailer goes to the meeting of both Batman and Commissioner James Gordon, which highlights the words from Joker, ‘new security system, how a man supposed to escape from here’, or something like that.

And that’s were it starts to get interesting, when going in through the new steps of detainment using Joker as an example to show Batman, Joker head butt’s one of the guarders and frees himself starting what is a mayor plot twists in the game.

By doing this he turns all of Arkham into his-own-sick-little-play-ground. Now, apparently, Batman is going to have to stop him, but sadly that’s all the trailer had to give about the story, but it did give, what looks like, gameplay. And it looks amazing.

Adding all these things together it looks like Batman: Arkham Asylum can’t disappoint, but really what does one have to say about gameplay, well I can’t going into to details about anything in-game at this point, mainly because we weren’t shown anyway in-game points, but from the out look of it, it looks purely amazing.

In light of the Final Fantasy XIII countdown on the Final Fantasy XII website, which started some time last week promising ‘a new vision’, it looks like it is finally over, but what has it left behind for all to see.

When you visit the website you will see a brand new Final Fantasy XIII trailer from Square-Enix, but, sadly, the trailer isn’t visible in English, yet, but it does keep its promise of “a new vision [being] revealed to the world.”

Absolutely nothing, by far that’s we know about Doom 4, but today that’s all about to change because it looks like a Fantasy Author has picked up his pen to work magic one more time, but this time it’s for a video game.

In plans to add to the bitterness of the Doom universe, id Software has retained the services of four-time British Fantasy Award-winning author Graham Joyce to script their upcoming title, Doom 4.

“I can say that id have hired me to help develop the storyline potential,” Joyce told CVG in response to the news.

To date Joyce has published 15 novels and 26 short stories in the “speculative fiction” genre.

Anyway, before people start downing this announcement, I’d like to point out that the video game seires basically has no solid back story what so ever, so they most be planning something, but what is it…

Batman is recognized as one of the world greatest detectives and, along with that, he also uses an heroic set of weaponry.

With that said, he uses his weaponry as new factors arrive, like using his bat-a-rang to knock a gun out of an enemies hand, and what kind of Batman game would it be if they didn’t add that in.

According to Danish print mag Game Reactor, Batman: Arkham Asylum will give Batman the use of new gadgets as capabilities increase: not too dissimilar to the mechanics of an RPG.

“As in a role-playing game, Batman will possess an experience system whereby it is possible to open up for new abilities and new gadgets,” says the piece [translated from Danish].

“Batman will need to use a large number of said gadgets as in many of the game’s difficult encounters as he won’t always be the strongest.”

Digi-Guys says their goal is to “push beyond the confines of conventional ‘next-generation’ thinking in order to produce unique, innovative, and platform leading Videogames & Digital content across all media.” But, we don’t know what this has to with that, but as part of a New Years treat, the team over at Digi-Guys have released new content from a special side project for the upcoming game WarDevil entitled, Wardevil Chronicles.

According to the Digi-Guys, WarDevil Chronicles is an accompanying 2D Cartoon/Anime that will be used to debut various characters and scenarios throughout the life of the main WarDevil Project. There is also a Mini seek preview on the official site for the 2D Cartoon/Anime.

“We may do more – and expand the Project in many ways, as we’ve had great fun creating the 2D style – it’s designed to be very different to the high-end/CG look of the main Project,” said a DigiGuys representative to PSU.

A genius parody has hit the Interweb, which was made by Kevin Pereira, entitled “Kevye West: 808’s and Expirations Dates (Guac Lockdown)”, which is an obvious pun on Kanye’s latest album, 808s and Heartbreak.

The video is a strong parody of Kanye West’s  not so great performance at SNL, which you can check it out at DailyMotion. And apparently his pitch vocal auto-correctors,  reportedly, weren’t functioning properly that performance.

An abducted soul, a lifetime of sins, a journey to the depths of despair. Announced today that EA Redwood Shores, the studio behind hit horror game Dead Space, is making Dante’s Inferno – a third-person action adventure adaptation of the medieval epic poem The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri.

The dark fiction gave birth to the Tuscan Italian dialect and is widely considered to have defined the western world’s contemporary conception of hell and purgatory. The poem tells the tale of Dante who journeys through the twisted, menacing nine circles of hell in pursuit of his beloved Beatrice.

“The time is right for the world of interactive entertainment to adapt this literary masterpiece, and to re-introduce Dante to an audience that, until now, may have been unfamiliar with the remarkable details of this great work of art,” said Jonathan Knight, executive producer for Dante’s Inferno. “It’s the perfect opportunity to fuse great gameplay with great story.”

I was never a really a big fan of RPGs until this game came along and pointed me in the right direction, but it wasn’t because it’s a timed 360 exclusive, it was because it’s from Square. Now, I’m not saying that Fable, or the other RPGs, aren’t great games it’s just that this games from the Kings of RPGs. And well, it seems that when the game comes to the PlayStation 3 Squares going to be adding Japanese voiceovers.

It’s really kinda trivial to ask this question, but why just not just keep the game the same as the 360 version? O well, this is just as great anyway, but lets wait and see what other things they well change, like adding new missions but we can only lets hope.

The last Street Fighter movie was downright atrocious, but that doesn’t always mean that you should give up on the game as a movie series, or does it? We all may know as Steven E. de Souza has the guy who messed up with the games creditable as a film back in 1994. Well, when he was speaking to the guys at MTV’s Movie Blog he said that “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li,” will be better then the first movie which was simply entitled “Street Fighter”.

“When we were making the original one, they insisted that all of the characters be in the movie,” de Souza remembered with a sigh. “And if you do the math, that gives you about 7 minutes per character if you split it up equally.”

“I’m envious of this group, because they’re able to construct a movie around a single character rather than a three-ring circus that needs to be lassoed with the story,” he insisted. “It’s a rich universe, and I think it can support all of these versions.”

This movie has been rumored since last year and at E3 Sony reveal the third installment into the serie is well on it’s way. Well, we all knew that this was going to happen, it was just a matter of when. When confronted by UGO’s Movie Blog, Brett Ratner, who just happens to be a Movie Directer said that he was working on some new movie. No, it’s not the Mass Effect: The Movie. It’s God of War: The Movie, this game does have a kinda deep story and if i where to pick on game to be turned into a movie this will be it. Here also revealed some other movies that he will be working on and you can watch the video on the site.

God of War follows the story of Kratos a servant to the God of War, Ares, during a battle against an immense Barbarian horde from the east. Kratos and his men were greatly outnumbered and the merciless Barbarians couldn’t be stopped by the disciplined Spartans, resulting in a massacre. Realizing that he could not win, Kratos offered his life and servitude to Ares in exchange for salvation.

In a interview with GTTV, Ed Boon told them that “they will be revealing more information on the game at Comic-Con”. At Comic-Con no new footage of new characters were shown, but we were lucky enough to get our hands on a list of all the characters so far revealed for the game.

Wesley Gibson, which the game is based on is a young man who develop fabulous capacities but is heir to a legacy of assassins.At press time it was not clear if the game would follow the plot that was shown in the movie or take the route of the comic book created by Mark Millar. Don’t worry all that will be given before the released of the game later this year.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, Swedish developer Grin is currently working with Universal on a Wanted movie based video game. The movie has taken over USD 192 million at the box office since release. The game will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

“From the time we read the script and saw the film’s pre-visual material, it was clear that Wanted was a powerful property – one that was well poised to deliver an engaging gaming experience,” commented Bill Kispert, VP and general manager for Universal Pictures.

Pete Wanat will work with Grin as executive game producer, who previously worked on movie games like The Thing, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and Scarface: The World is Yours.

According to Kingdom Hearst Insiders , a member of their community forums has posted a post stating that Square or Disney has been auditioning people to voice the Organization XIII members. And guest what, they say that the game that they are auditioning for is ‘Chains of Memories’ . Which was remade into a PlayStation 2 game titled Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories , which was released in Japan packaged with Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix in March 2007.

“The casting people/paperwork are/is specifically calling it ‘Kingdom Hearts Chains of Memories’ and are SPECIFICALLY casting the 5 Organization members that I named in the article, all of whom were in CoM and don’t have cast English voice actors (outside of those 5 I don’t know if anyone else is being cast in any fashion, although I THINK those were the only 5 characters who are in CoM who don’t already have English actors from KH/KH2).”

This news was later called ” not untrue” by Neogaf Member Aeana, who is well known for her insider information. And unlike previous rumors, KHInsider actually believes this one to be true. However, it is still a rumor, and should be treated as one until we have official word.

This could just be another rumor that some fabricated, considering that the only reference is the classic "inside source" or in this case "inside man." But, then there is the fact that they have the info to back it up.

According to a post on the TheAngryPixel blog, an "inside man" told them that Dhruva Interactive has been hard at work, working on Forza 3. Giving confirmation that the third entry in the series is very much a reality and that we should be seeing a proper revealing of the game very soon. Now, that you think of it maybe E3?

TheAngryPixel question the possibility of Forza 3 being distributed on more than one disc, and there "inside man" was quick to comment.

Black Rock Studios along with Disney Interactive Studios revealed today the box art for the upcoming off-road racing video game. The box on the right will grace stores in  Europe, the Middle East and Africa while North America, Asia, Latin America and Australia will get the box art on the left this gam set to be released in the Fall of 2008 and we where assured  by director Jason Avent that both game would run the same on the 360 version and Playstation 3  version.

Sources tell us that today, Activision has confirmed at a conference that after the release of another Guitar Hero game is set to be made, Guitar Hero: Metallica. Metallica is a legendary hard rock group led by James Hetfield and Kirk Hammet. The game was announced for the arrival by the end of the current fiscal year, before March 31, 2009.

Today, DREAMWORKS and PARAMOUNT PICTURES announced that Transformers will be headed to Blu-Ray this September as a two disc special edition Blu-Ray movie. There was no information about what would be contained in the special edition movie combo but many would speculate that there would be a trailer for the upcoming Transformers 2 movie.

It has already been scheduled for a release on the April 24 Marketplace for 600 points an then on the PlayStation Store on the same day but, EA can’t have it fans waiting. Today, EA release a promotional video for the upcoming SSC Challenge pack. The video is of a timed obstacle course between two teams – red and blue – which try to get as much cash as possible in of hope joining the Security and Strategy Corporation.

Criterion has revealed three new game modes that will appear in the next update for the game codenamed Bogart which is set to hit next Thursday.

Online Stunt Run:

• This is 8-player simultaneous online Stunt Run – everyone competes for the highest score within the 2 minute time limit and you can play anywhere in Paradise City.
• An on-screen display shows all player scores, so you can easily see how you’re doing.
• Earn multipliers for taking each other out but you lose your combo score, if you’re taken down.
• Eliminated players are greyed out of the scoring area but can exact brutal revenge by chasing after players that have managed to keep their combos alive beyond the time-out.
• For the first time, you can drive alongside someone as they complete a billion score in Stunt Run – you can absolutely use this mode to try and show off to your friends.

Online Road Rage:

• This is an 8-player online team event.
• At the start, everyone chooses their team (red or blue).
• One team of “runners” has to drive to a checkpoint then the finish – they can only see one checkpoint ahead.
• The other team has to take them down. These guys can see the checkpoint and finish and choose whether to wait and ambush in key locations, shortcut to the action if they get left behind or just follow the pack and cause chaos.

Online Marked Man:

• We randomly choose a “Marked Man”.
• There’s an intense few moments, while all players wait for the selection to be made – you want to stay close to other players, so you can hit the Marked Man, as soon as he’s selected but far enough away that that you can run like hell if it’s you that’s the Marked Man.
• The target is selected and a 90 second timer starts – you get 1 point if you survive and 1 point if you take down the Marked Man. After 90 seconds a new Marked Man is selected at random.
• If you’re the Marked Man, you can’t see the attacking players on the map, your car is a little slower and you don’t get boost.
• The session usually consists of around 10-12 minutes of intense gameplay depending on the number of players involved.
