It was rumored by many sources earlier today that the newest addition to Resident Evil 5, its ‘Versus Mode’ DLC, is really a key, which opens locked content that was already on the disc.

However, Capcom’s Vice President, Christian Svensson, stands his ground and says, “Keys are 100K or less. It is not a key. We have said in the past, it uses assets from the disc (like levels, models, audio, etc.) but the code is new and does not exist on the disc.”

Sounds reasonable. However, 100K files used to unlock content are very common, but Capcom isn’t a stranger to the process. Recently, it was revealed that the soon to be released Street Fighter IV alternate costumes were done in that fashion.

Chris Kramer has stated  that Resident Evil 5 signals a new direction for the survival horror series with it “waving goodbye” to many of the story lines and characters seen in previous installments.

When speaking to the Major Nelson, in his recent podcast, Kramer stated that, “It’s a really good time for new players to jump in, because what we’re doing is kind of waving goodbye to a lot of storyline elements from, essentially, act one of the Resident Evil franchise.”

“Resident evil 5 is really setting the franchise up for what’s going to happen now going forwards, so establishing new characters and storylines, and pretty much a new direction for the game.”

“If you’re late to the party and you haven’t been playing the games for the past 15 years, all you need to know is that the game’s a lot of fun and just filled with action, so you don’t have to worry about the plot, as we’re kind up picking up and starting afresh.”

There’s a list of complaints for Resident Evil 5 from the games controls system and the weird camera thing it does, sometimes, but even with all of that it has proven itself to be a great game. But, it seems that the producer of the game, Jun Takeuchi, has some idea for rebooting the franchise.

When being interviewed by 1UP, Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi revealed that the franchise is in for a reboot, or atleast that’s what the 1UP feature preview said:

“In what is destined to be the first genuinely epic game of 2009, Resident Evil 5 is practically guaranteed to be the last of its kind, with the game’s producer, Jun Takeuchi, assuring us that a reboot is in order for the inevitable Resident Evil 6. That’s not to suggest that there’s anything wrong with the evil at hand. Quite the opposite; it’s awesome fun, and we’ve beaten the game from beginning to end, and have a week’s worth of detailed, insider info for you to enjoy. Check out our exclusive interview, videos of unseen levels, and our final hands-on preview to see if Capcom’s controversial new survival-horror game lives up to its legacy.”

Update: Apparently, they are going to reveal the title not announce it.

Original: In what wouldn’t be their first time in creating such a product for the 360, Capcom has revealed that it has another exclusive product for the Xbox 360 underway. And according to many sources they plan to reveal the product in a very special way, special indeed.

According to Capcom, on Monday, Feburary 23rd, Capcom’s brand new title trailer will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace. But, there’s one question that’s on top of all of our minds and that is what could it be? But, we inspect that it could be the new Lost Planet title because they are yet too announced the title and they rushed to announce the Dead Rising sequel.

Anyway, in order to download the trailer you are going to need to have an Xbox Live account.

Remember back in 2006 when you first saw Dead Rising on the 360? Well, almost three years later it seems that the game is about to make an EPIC return because today Capcom announced its sequel, Dead Rising 2.

The game promises to ‘take the franchise to a new level of zombie-killing’ by featuring tens of thousands of zombies, in the all new gambling paradise of Fortune City, so it’s not in Vegas like previously though. The City will host new in-game objects that can be used as deadly weapons to stave off the zombie assault.

Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the infamous zombie invasion of Willamette. Unfortunately, the zombie virus was not contained at the conclusion of Dead Rising, spreading unchecked throughout the United States and Dead Rising 2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike.

Dead Rising 2 is being developed in partnership with up and coming Canadian developer Blue Castle Games. A number of members from the original Dead Rising team will be working alongside Blue Castle Games throughout the development process, including Capcom’s global head of research and development, Keiji Inafune, who as the game’s Producer will play an active role in the project.

A YouTube video has hit the web proclaiming that it’s the Dead Rising 2 trailer and guys close to Capcom have confirmed that is this the real deal.

I had a chance to contact a rep from Capcom and nothing can be ‘officially said’ because they cannot confirmed anything just yet. But, from this video we can find out some  information about Dead Rising 2.

The video has a reference to a drug that turns out ‘to almost be complete effective’ against the outbreak. Anyway, the video then moves to a casino it shows Isabella Keyes from the first game pushing a giant hamster ball, which they say is a new weapon from in the game.

However, if the video is true, it appears to confirm that Dead Rising 2 will be set in Las Vegas because of the casino parts of the trailer, but as of now, one can only wait and see.

What a shocker, after Capcom shut down like a million of these rumors it’s great to see that they have plans for the many fans of their Lost Planet title. But, here’s a question, whats new for Wanye?

According to PS3center, with the announcement of the Lost Planet film budget, which will cost about $150-$200 million, Capcom has also revealed, within the pages of Famitsu, that they are indeed working on another Lost Planet title.

The developer and pubilisher also revealed that the title is set to release this year on both the PS3 and 360, with some exclusive content for the Xbox 360 version.

Ending with that, YES is all I’ll say. I don’t know about you guys, but I loved the first game, and I really think it’s sad that not alot of people play it still.

Resident Evil 5, by far, has shown some very interesting showcases in its video library, but its yet to show something like this. As a timed exclusive to Gamekyo, Capcom has revealed an new story trailer that shows some very important spoilers from Resident Evil 5. The game will be heading your way in March. Also Capcom is planning to release a demo for the game this week so watch out for the demo.

If you will, take a trip back with me to 2001 and, would you kindly, try to remember all the gaming related rumors that were revealed in that year. I know that it’s hard to recollect, but there was one very interesting rumor that I will never forget, and that was the Capcom vs. SNK 3 rumor.

In an interview with Jeux-Actu, Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono commented on the possibility of Capcom reconsidering the development of Capcom vs. SNK 3. In the interview Yoshinori Ono recalls Capcoms firm focus of unwavering fans of fighting games.

He even goes back far enough recalling being asked about Capcom considering the development of Street Fight IV. With that, he goes into there being a demand for Street Fight IV saying, “because fans demanded it they got it,” or something along that road. And he says that the same may go for Capcom vs. SNK 3, that if fans demand it.
