Resident Evil series focus maybe shifted

The next Resident Evil game may have less of an emphasis on action and more emphasis on “horror and fear.” According to series producer Masachika Kawata, Capcom is investigating a possible shift in tone for the series.

“Looking at user feedback from the last couple of games, I’ve started to slightly revise my opinion on that matter,” Kawata told Videogamer in response to the reception of the last two games. Resident Evil 6 was suppose to interject feelings of nostalgia, however instead it continued to alienante fans of the revered franchise.

“I still think it’s important for us to challenge ourselves to include new elements in the games to keep them fresh and keep them relevant,” Kawata said.
