Despite a handful of misleading Twitter comments, director David Jaffe made well on his bewildered promise — another installment into his adored car combat franchise. In conclusion to their press conference, Sony revealed that Twisted Metal will be headed exclusively to their platform in 2011.
According to Jaffe, the new Twisted Metal development team at Eat Sleep Play consists of many of the series’ original developers. “Twisted Metal is being created by the same team members who gave birth to the dark humor and fast-action gameplay of the classic Twisted Metal series,” he stated.
However, Jaffe only displayed the multiplayer mode at the event. Eat Sleep Play representatives have confirmed that the development team aren’t ready to address the game’s single-player portion to the public. That said, the new version of Twisted Metal will release exclusively on PS3 on 2011.
