Released during the Tokyo Game Show, the newest The Last Guardian trailer is home to the a “hidden message” that Fumito Ueda, founder of Team ICO, would like to convey to the fans. In an interview with Dengeki, Ueda said that the hidden message that he wanted to convey to the fans was Toriko’s “natural movement”.

“This trailer’s all about the giant eagle Toriko, as you can see,” Ueda told Dengeki. “I wanted to show how it moves naturally. I don’t know whether you’ve noticed or not, but every body part is animated. Toriko’s whiskers move and after a while its ears move independently. I wanted fans to notice those movements.”

Reviewing the TGS trailer, he wasn’t lying about the characters natural movement. Even in the announcement trailer back at E3, the characters natural movement was very explicit. Obviously, Ueda’s art is sometimes hidden, but he’s a true artist none the less. We can’t wait to see more on The Last Guardian.
