Get a PC, get some real games, play. I implore you, do the proper thing and get real!

Halo is a waste of space, bungie should have given up after the first one. I got bored in the first one (though i did complete it), halo 2 much the same (Didn't complete it as i couldn't believe such crap was even allowed passed testing) and ive not bothered with anything else but by the look of the trailers nothing at all has changed with any of the “games” since.

It is my sincere opinion that bungie knows that nobody that actualy plays real games plays halo. Halo is as bad as nfs shift btw, what pointless and badly made crap that was.

Remember that games like Counter-Strike was a mod of the Half-Life engine.
So no, i would not consider Halo CE to be the best FPS engine ever developed.

I wouldn't go so far as to think or say that that Halo franchise is the best there is….but it's a long way away from sucking.

To actually say something relating to the article, I'm skeptical. If I remember correctly, Bungie declared themselves “done” with the franchise after the third game was released. Then they announced not one but TWO more games. The guys at Bungie are a creative bunch who have shown themselves capable of adding something fresh and exciting to each installlment. I think that it is only a matter of time before they inadvertently accumulate new ideas for the franchise and decide to make another game. There have been so many games, movies, albums, and books which have been intended to be the “last” by their creators. The creators of such mediums however are artists who are naturally creative entities and will always continue to have new ideas about things that are a large part of who they are.

Halo 1 represented nothing new except vehicle combat, and that only by the dint of being released a couple months before Battlefield 1942, C&C Renegade (yes it sucked, but it had vehicles) and several other games that were all under development at the same time as Halo. The levels were repetitive cut/paste borefests, and the multipayer wasn't anything that you couldn't have gotten from Unreal Tournament years before.

Halo 2 was much the same, new Gfx, a couple new items, but nothing truly new.

Halo 3, more of the same.

Halo is ok, it's AI was good and the vehicle stuff was smooth, but it didn't overturn the genre and certainly never came close to Unreal Tournament for example in terms of amazing gameplay.
