Activision Is Planning A Call of Duty Movie [Updated]

3272449497 65b69a893f o Activision Is Planning A Call of Duty Movie [Updated]Update: It has been brought to my attention that there was a little error within the title. However, it has now been edited.

Original: That’s right. According to The Hollwood Reporter, it seems that Activision have set up deals for “Call of Duty: The Movie”, the movie for the very popular video game.

“[The Call of Duty movie is] being talked about for the big screen,” said one person with knowledge of the deal.

However, in an interview prior to Thursday’s quarterly earnings conference call, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick wouldn’t comment on the status of Call of Duty becoming a film.

Kotick added that video games, especially family-friendly titles – like Guitar Hero, which will be getting its own show - are “capturing leisure time away from TV and film.”

Evidence that Kotick might be correct was in the company’s financial report on Thursday. Revealing that Activision Blizzard’s first-quarter revenue had more than tripled to $981 million as net income swelled to $189 million from $43 million in the year-ago quarter.

they should make a cod movie from call of duty:waw that features all the same battles but also some that werent shown in the game. maybe throw in nazi zombies somewhere in it as an added twist
    it should be a trilogy
the first movie:the battles between the Marine Raiders and The Imperial Army, and it should have Miller, Roebuck and Sullivan along with Tank Dempsey being thrown into the battle later in the movie. (i could see a Stone cold Steve Austin or a really buff jason statham, but ofcourse with an american accent if possible) and sometime in the climax the battle ends and imperial zombiez coming running out of the mist to start the final battle and it ends with Tank, Peter and MAYBE (even tho it wouldnt exactly follow the nazi zombie storyline) Pvt. Miller also escaping. and it ends with those 3 escaping the bloody slaughterfest.

the second movie would feature the war between The Red Army and The Wehrmacht
and it would have Dimitri (i dont remember his last name but hes the main character you play as when you are playing as the red army) Nikolai, Polanski, and ?dont remember the last guys name(that guy you are always saved by that you first meet in the snipe mission Vendetta).and just like the first movie it would have all the battles from cod5 and possibly some that weren't shown possibly. and it could delve deeper into the story behind nazi zombies and show exactly what happened between Dr. Maxis and Richthofen (yes i know if you look around you see pretty much the whole story SO FAR but i just mean it would be cool if more details were added and all that put into live action scenes would be cool) and it could show these scenes about the story behind nazi zombies as flash backs. anyways, at the end of the war which would be somewhere near the end the climax of the movie could show our 3 main characters along with Richthofen escaping the mass slaughter (obviously started by the arising nazi zombies) and the movie ends with 1 more flash back showing the nazi zombies inadvertently being created by Maxis and Richthofen and possibly also the creation of the hell hounds also. and the movie ends.

the 3rd and final movie of the trilogy would involved both stories of the last two movies intertwining and forming one story if you understand what im saying.

the survivors of the 1st movie and the survivors of the second movie all meet up in Shi No Numa and there they meet Takeo

(yes i know that in the nazi zombie storyline the only people at shi no numa are the dead, peter and the 4 soldiers (takeo, dempsey, Richthofen and nikolai) but this is my own idea and you know all video game adaptions arent EXACTLY based on the game they throw in their own ideas also. i mean seriously i know the resident evil movies dont copy everything from the games lol theyre VERY different.)

and when they meet up with takeo peter is attacked and is forced to flee. to another part of the base because he is separated from the group. and as it goes in the game he gets trapped and hangs himself. tank and the rest of the group eventually fight off many of the zombies and find his dead, hanging body. this gets tank pretty pissed off and he goes guns blazing, attacking every zombie around. takeo and everyone else are forced to all restrain him so he doesnt get himself killed (because there are ALOT of zombies around at the time) and eventually about 1 hour into the movie (i think the 3rd movie should be pretty long, maybe 2-3 hours) they are rescued by an allied helicopter sent in by an american airbase about 100 miles away. and as directed by Richthofen, they are taken to Der Reise in Berlin. and after vastly exploring the ruined factory they realize maybe they arrived a little (A SHITLOAD) too late as there is NO survivors and they have been hearing strange noises and see strange markings and blood splattered on alot of things..so they decide to leave but right as they are nearing the plane......it explodes..killing the first person to run upto the plane..Dimitri....it is very sad for Nikolai because he had fought along side him for a very long time and almost thought of him as a younger brother.(nikolai is in his 40's and dimitri is in his 20's) and the group sees that the entire factory is isolated from the rest of germany. the scientists that escaped bombed the ground all around the factory so its like a big island with GIANT craters all around it so if they tried to escape they would fall to their death. so the next hour of the movie is them trying to survive. in the last 30 mins (the climax) Roebuck dies saving Tank from a hellhound. and Richthofen dies helping the rest of the group escape. while escaping Dimitri dies along with that guy from Vendetta. (it would make sense because that would be the 2 russians you hear when u find the radio in der reise in the dead man in water.)
the rest survive and it ends with them on a helicopter home..but since theres still zombies alive and no one knows where Dr. Maxis REALLY is. (yes i know about the radio that plays a recording of richtofen killing him but that was only a recording it was never shown! he could have used the teleporter) so with tons of zombies roaming europe and dr maxis possibly alive. the legacy of evil continues....muahahahahaha lol no im not talking about more sequels im just giving it a horror movie ending that says. its not over yet. you never kill the bad guy..he always keeps coming back.

They Just want more money out of us. If like they don't have enough money already. It's all Greed! It's either movie first then turn it into a video game or game first turn into movie. Hitman movie was so poorly done because I worked on that movie, And the Damn comic books into movies. the Hulk movies were ok, spiderman was gay, But I was actually impressed with hellboy 1 but the ending of Hellboy 2 was just stupid. And Now Prince Of Persia and chaptain america give me a break. And the movie makers are so tipical. All they do is make another sequal or prequal. Because thats what makes the money. who ever is reading this, COD fan's anybody. you know they can't make a modern war movie becuase the government won't allow a movie being made based on this war today for Top secert safety reasons.
  • I think the novelty in google and you tube is that it is free. I'm dubious if they start charging people, they will pay for it. What makes it any different from other sites that sell you films you can download

um to john what are you talking about there have been movies based on the current wars like stop loss, war inc, not to mantion plenty of shows like over there, generation kill, and the unit. but I hope they don't make a cod movie I enjoyed the campaign it was awesome and the 2nd one did have a pretty good story line I think the games are to action packed and not enough story for there to be a movie made out of it. or maybe that might give writers more room to work with. I don't know I think it's a bad idea and I'm willing to bet it's not going to happen
