In an interview with the developers of Assault on Dark Athena, it was revealed that with the delay of their game it gave them more time to add more to it, extra levels, etc.. However, with the delay of Prototype it gave the developers time for re-innovation, which made the developers “vision” more manageable.
“The extra dev time from last year really was a chance for us to polish, tweak and refine the missions and gameplay mechanics,” executive producer Tim Bennison told VG247.“The original vision for the game was huge, perhaps a little too huge, so the extra time in development has let us realize that vision.”
In addition, the game was originally planned to release in autumn last year, but, sadly, it was a victim of the devastating Actvision Blizzard merger – along with many other titles. Feel free to view of “as big as all Manhattan” preview of Prototype.
