Joe your a retard. infinity ward IS call of duty. treyarch just screwed up the franchise by ripping off of iw and not contributing anything worthwhile. WaW is crap, i bought it played it and returned it the next day. COD is whatever IW says it is, if they want to drop that title whatever, but treyarch still has not and never will make a real COD game. They killed the franchise. twice. but IW is the phoenix, every other year.

I knew this would happen i told my friends when world at war came out. We played MW and i told my friends this aint even call of duty no more this is it! Modern Warfare take the call of duty out.

I think that infinity ward is such a beast, if they wanted to they could probably split from activision if they wanted. They are probably tired of treyarch overshadowing everything that they do and everything that they create themselves and trying to do it themselves by copying them because they have no originalty at all. I mean come on look at their spiderman games they are pretty fun but it’s the same thing over and over again but just with a few little tweaks here and there. Basically World at War is a clone of Modern Warfare but in a different era. In my opinion I would get rid of treyarch unless they get thier heads out of their butts and start making better original titles that don’t suck.

It does.. Its great that they are taking Modern Warfare into its own, but I think it should be Treyarch moving away from the Call of Duty name, not Infinity Ward. Call of Duty is Infinity Ward’s baby…

I think what we’re witnessing is a franchise split. Notice how COD4 was also recognizable as “Modern Warfare”. Now notice how COD5 was more recognizable as “World at War” and even the box art didn’t have the 5 on it. I think Activision intends to let Treyarch continue doing “World at War” titles, being historical battles, etc. while allowing IW to keep up the “Modern Warfare” games. This could also allow for a 3rd franchise to be born, which of course is the much rumored “Future Warfare”, without causing any potential stigma towards the existing franchises.

Pretty smooth transition by Activision if you ask me.

yeah it dose actually its kinda weird but it does state why they dropped call of duty….he says that modern warfare has taken a life of its own so instead of keeping call of duty in the title which has been the series’ name forever now they dropped it because modern warfare has become its own game…..basically its not just some call of duty game anymore…..sounds to me like there trying to get away from treyarch as much as they can…….
