According to Kotaku, Mortal Kombat’s co-creator Ed Boon was speaking about an eighth entry into the Mortal Kombat franchise. The game was described as “very dark, serious” and a “gritty” take on the series, a back to basics reboot that was free of “vibrant, saturated colors.” It was said to be heavily inspired by the look of Gears of War. Boon goes onto say why the game was scrapped, MK8 was scrapped when the DC Comics deal solidified. Meaning that if DC Comics didn’t “solidified” the deal we would have gotten a “gritty” and more“serious” Mortal Kombat game.
Ah well, I’m sure this will be better… *shoots brains out*
