MGS 4 Not Really A System Seller In Japan
Metal Gear Solid 4 is just what long-time fans hoped for, but according to Famitsu Metal Gear Solid 4 is nothing but just another game not a system seller. Famitsu has revealed the hardware sales for the month of June, the sale revealed that with all the games sold in japan Metal Gear Solid didn’t really help the PlayStation 3 beat the Wii’s hardware sales.

Er, that doesn’t really prove it didn’t help sell systems does it? It just shows that MGS4 didn’t make the PS3 outsell thw Wii. This really is shoddy work.
The sale of PS3 went up, so MGS4 is a system seller. It just didn’t outsell the Wii.

MGS has never been a system seller… never has, never will.
If anyone actually expected that this would get the PS3 rolling, then thats just plain daft. All it showed was the potential of PS3 to shift consoles, but until something like FF13 gets released, PS3 is not going to shift more console then the Wii.
not even playstation line up this year will not sell alot console because 12 mill people all ready have ps3. mybe someone will buy a playstation just not a lot of people….now if gode of war 3 was in the line up it will be a differeny store…..
ok, then halo 3 is a system seller also, tell me how many systems (360) did it sell in JAPAN compared to the Wii??? ….this artical is stupid!
I am from Germany and I’d like to add that the PS3 sold very well according to MGS 4 have been released. I totally agree with Eduardo. MGS 4 did not help the PS3 to outsell the Wii, but this one was never aimed to happen. MGS 4 made an eight-time higher PS3 system sell than the month before. Nearly everywhere around the planet.
Famitsu is right. The PS3 did not outsell the Wii, but it came very close. Reason: MGS 4!
This game IS not a system seller from the beginning, and I knew that ever since! Besides not being a huge fan of the series, MGS4 is also not a ‘perfect’ game at all. Why? The long game cut-scenes are just annoying to watch, that you end up watching it more than actually playing the game. So is this game that great? Two words: HELL NO!! Gears of War 2 is the REAL deal this year, not MGS4, okay?
